Tigers hire SF Giants’ leader for GM role

I don't know what was wrong with Al Avila....I was very happy with the job he was doing there.

I never expected to be so jealous of the Tigers.

No s%*#.

this is bad news for Chicago. The good news is there's no indication Illitch's son wants to spend any money, hence hiring this young unproven guy. But imo it's still a good hire.

Not impressed, outside of their fluke season last year the Giants have been garbage for quite a while.

Right call on Rodon though.

It's like keeping Katz because of Cease.

He says he will emphasize developing young players and the also emphasize the strike zone for hitters and pitchers.  This is good news or the Sox:  the Sox do neither, so there's less competition or our type of player.

The trick is drafting guys who do just that.  We've learned you can't coach stupid out of a player.
