I want Vera to succeed so badly, but it's getting hard to care at this point.

Two days in a row without a win. Someone else do tomorrow. I’m in the penalty box.

Montgomery only hitting .217 at AA. At what point does the prospect shine start to wear off a bit? I lnow his approach is good but this is 2 years in a row he got promoted to Birmingham late and looked terrible.

It's a good thing he's struggling.  Every player struggles at some point. He's facing better pitching and they're attacking him different so he's going to have to learn how to make adjustments and battle thru it. It's actually a great time for him to go thru this because he can make those adjustments and try them out in the arizona fall league.

Before I quit caring, I reach the point of "anything we get from him via trade or at the MLB level is now a bonus".

starting to feel like taking guys in their formative prospect years who just lost a year due to an immigration issue and giving them a second year to play with children has not been the best tactic.

They should try to salvage what they can and just make him a reliever at this point, he can't seem to hold up as a starter.

Last year he played 14 games against dudes (on average) 4+ years older than him in his first full season and admittedthat he was just gassed by then end. He's nearly doubled the games played there this season (31), still 2.5 years younger and coming off an injury. We'll see how he handles the AFL, but way to premature to start panicking.

I wish all of the “struggling” Prospects posted a .400 OBP and 122 wRC+ in the Southern League

That Vera outing looks a lot like yips on the scoresheet. Don't know what it looked like live.
