2025 Old Sock Drawer

Crochet goes 7 IP, 11k's, 1 BB, 1 ER (Stantonian solo shot) at Yankee Stadium and lowers his ERA to 2.38 in a 12-1 win. He leads MLB in innings pitched as well as K's and is 5th in qualified ERA. Let's see what Skubal does his next start against a hot hitting Sacramento Athletics team at their minor league ballpark.

Cy Young race should be close between the two, they're jockeying for position on the K's, IP, and ERA..and some thought Garrett didn't have the durability to be a starter. Very fun watching these two lefties dominate. Love the guys we got in return, but it's a bummer he's not doing this with the Sox.

Ethan Katz will fix him.

Fix him and trade him again. Do it a third time in 2027 when he is inevitably cut twice.

Romy Gonzalez third best average against LHPers in the majors for 2024-25...not bad for a waiver claim.

Dylan Cease in the process of blowing another big lead and NOT going 5 despite being spotted a 5-0 lead against the Mariners.

Should have traded him at the deadline...but not much of a choice with King and Musgrove out.

Eric Fedde, picked up by Brewers, came on in relief and gave up 8 hits, took the loss.

Eloy is signing a minors deal with Toronto after being released from the Rays system in July.

Another twofer:

Civale pitched 3 innings in relief, struck out 4, no runs.

On the other side, Brebbia gets the L on a ghost runner walk-off single.

Padres bringing Maldonado back on a minors deal.

He was Cease's (4IP 2ER on 91 pitches today) personal catcher in the first half, but it's not like it was leading to better results so I'm not sure what the rationale is.

I guess just injury insurance, since they seem to not like Campusano at C.

Rough one for Crochet vs. the Guardians: 6IP, 7ER, 9H (4 HR), 4K.

Getting squared up by guys like Hedges, Fry, and Rocchio makes me wonder if he was tipping?

Not good for the Cy odds either way.

Burger two homers already today in must win game for TEX.

Sheets still around an 800 ops for the year.

Yoan Moncada…but missed half the season due to injuries, ofc

Don't think Boston picks up the mutual option, but I also don't think Liam hangs them up quite yet even if he has to work his way back on a MiLB deal.

I think he'd be an awesome play-by-play guy. I think he's done, but agree with you that he'll try to keep his career going.

Maybe if the game is on tape delay...not sure he can keep it clean enough for a broadcast otherwise 😅

Castellanos Sosa Marsh Kemp an interesting bottom of the lineup.

Snell doesn't do well on the road historically.

Huge start for Jesus Luzardo here...with Ki-ke and Rortveldt in the Dodgers' lineup. Trying to nurse W.Smith back in there.

All three experts at MLB Network predicting Phillies...just think they want a watchable series instead of a blow out here.

Suarez T.Walker Nola Buehler all options for G3 against Yamamoto, but LAD will have big edge at home.

Next WNBA Commissioner?

"Names suggested were Swim Cash, Lisa Leslie, Rasheeda Clark, Mellody Hobson, Nneka Ogwumike, and Bethany Donaphin. All of whom have a background in “relationship building” in some way, shape, or form.

As of now, Cathy Englebert’s position remains intact."

Which one played for the Sox

Mellody Houston was/is a Sox minority owner from all reports that are available...

2-3 years ago, reports proliferated across Chicago and various Sox-related sites that her and George Lucas owned as much as 17.5% of the team.

Well, technically Tatis never played an MiLB game for the Sox, either.
