I think he is mocking those that though this trade was the end of the world because we gave up Burger, but I will let him say.

caulfield12
Dane Dunning back too with TEX. "Burger was one of the Rangers’ biggest offseason acquisitions, but has been one of many players struggling in the first month of the season. He’s hitting .190 with a .561 OPS in 30 games as the Rangers’ primary first baseman. The Rangers traded for Burger in hopes that he would add some much-needed thump to the lineup. He was coming off a 29-homer season with 76 RBIs for the Marlins in 2024. In ‘23, he hit a career-high 34 homers with the White Sox and Marlins and recorded an .827 OPS." chitownsportsfan
Problem with the burger, vaughn, torkelson types is if they ain't hitting at least for like a 780 OPS they are completely worthless. A player like robert, currently hitting all of a 180 with a couple HR is still on pace to have an average regular season because of his value on the bases and in CF. We really have to stop looking for "1B/DH" and just let whoever can hit (hopefully Vargus) but isn't an above average defender take it over full time, a lot of good teams do this, they just put whoever hits the most but otherwise isn't a great defender there and let the roster shake out organically. caulfield12
https://www.mlb.com/rangers/news/jake-burger-wife-start-burger-family-foundation-for-down-syndrome This feels a little bit like the terrible year that Adam Dunn went through in 2011...started with appendicitis then more personal/family issues as well. The Burgers will figure it out, hopefully.
Autumn Dreamin
Cease still struggling: 4IP, 2ER, 3H, 3K, 3BB, 1 HBP on 91 pitches. ERA at 5.61. Maybe someone gets to buy low and pay the odd-year Cease price to get his Cy Young even-year performance for next season.

caulfield12
Tatis Jr. just made a series of highlight plays to maybe steal the game. Deked Canario into a double, stole third and then stole home on a ball into the dirt that squirted no more than 3-5 feet away from Joey Bart. Bednar didn't even have time to get to the plate...Bart attempted to dive for him at the plate. Announcers comparing to Rickey Henderson and Jackie Robinson...lol. https://www.mlb.com/padres/video/david-bednar-in-play-no-out-to-fernando-tatis-jr https://www.mlb.com/gameday/padres-vs-pirates/2025/05/03/778065/final/wrap Edited May 4 by caulfield12

TT the right-hander has spent his twenties bouncing between the Braves, Angels, Guardians, and White Sox organizations with well below average results at every stop along the way. His most recent stint in the majors came last season with the White Sox, for whom Toussaint posted an eye-popping 7.43 ERA while walking 15.4% of his opponents. His stint in Chicago last year wound up lasting only 23 innings, but now he’s poised to return to the majors for a second stint in Anaheim. mlbtraderumors.com LAA 4-15 over last 19. GreenSox
Giolito was less than outstanding with 10H ad 6ER over 3.2. He was a big plus for the Sox: Great trade to bring him in; great trade to send him out. Have been watching the new Netflix series on the Red Sox. He's peripherally a character so far, mostly because of his TJS. Cam Booser gets quite the storyline....already knew most of the details, but to see it via video, especially his first incredulous call up to the big leagues and pretty sure his first win or save was against the White Sox in Chicago (leading to Cora's "let's get out of this shithole" comments.
