April 20, 20241 yr Excellent take on the current state of affairs with this horrific franchise owned by the biggest jerk in the sporting world. Edited April 20, 20241 yr by The Mighty Mite
April 20, 20241 yr Great article, which details every recent misstep by Jerry. Imagine buying a team for $19 million dollars that is now worth maybe $2.5 billion and choosing not to be competitive year after year. What an epic loser the guy is.
April 20, 20241 yr The day JR no longer owns the Sox is a joyous holiday at my house. He operates like it’s 1985 still!

April 20, 20241 yr The one comment that made me laugh was about the “toolsy” first rounder from last June…which I guess was supposed to be taken as tongue in cheek. And the free agency class’ reasons for 2024-25 optimism could have been written by none other than an intern at Boras Corp. It will be quite interesting to see how the Sox can creatively avoid spending $100+ million on a single contract (yet) again.

April 20, 20241 yr It's difficult to imagine if you took ANY random Fangraphs reader and told them that their offseason assignment was to deliberately destroy the Sox fanbase...how they could do much better (or "worse") than the combination of Getz and Grifol have so far. The primary condition would be STILL maintaining a Top 15 payroll, while simultaneously attempting to be one of the very worst teams in history. Btw, with the Pham signing...the White Sox have now passed the Twins for the highest payroll in the AL Central, at almost $135 million, according to Cot's Baseball Contracts.
