Burke gave up 3 runs in .2 without a hit. 5bb + 1HBP. I just don't think he's ever going to be a consistent enough strike thrower to make it in mlb. I hope I'm wrong. Seems like a good dude.

This sounds like something someone would say about a different organization after leaving the Sox. That’s encouraging.

Hoping he can make it work in the bullpen at least.

Wolkow with a triple (also 2 Ks)

I saw his line and first thought was reinjured.  Hopefully not though weird to hope just a bad outing.

Burke hadn't pitched since 7/11.  It would be nice to know why.

His chances to start are dwindling. Sox need to consider a move to bullpen soon. By the end of this season, Burke will either have to be on 40-man or Rule 5 eligible. He’s got good raw stuff… maybe as a reliever. Lord knows we need some bullpen guys.

You might as well throw a dude like Burke a start or 5 next year. If that does work he can float between Charlotte and Chicago trying to find a niche in the bullpen. If you're gonna get lit up in Charlotte you might as well get doubly lit in Chicago.

I hope they don't bring in a single vet next year and just throw every arm we have north of AA into the bigs and we'll get an idea who's gonna sink or swim. If you win 40 games so be it but at least you know what you have and then go spend some serious cash on 2026.

Or do the same thing, half the bullpen is vets building value for the TDL, and the other half is shuttling rookies in and out to see what you have.

If you're gonna do that, go get some legit bullpen arms and pay them $10M+. I don't want any vets unless they are legit options to close.
