November 25, 20241 yr Figured it was time a thread for random White Sox rumors of highly questionable nature but fun to discuss. First one I’ve seen comes good ‘ole Orlando, I mean Bartolo’s Colonoscopy. He claims the Sox have interest in Jakob Junis and that he’s one of their top targets. Again, probably a complete fabrication but figured I’d share nonetheless.
November 25, 20241 yr Big news here… 😉 “White Sox re-signed INF Nick Podkul to a minor league contract.” Edited November 25, 20241 yr by WhiteSox2023
November 25, 20241 yr Here’s what I know… we have zero chance or need in free agency. No good player would want to play for this circus until there’s some progress and we obviously have a mandate to lower payroll until we show progress as well. So we’re pidgin holed into the trade market where we’ve got to focus on two areas: Reclamation projects and blue chip players who are likely in the lower levels. Otherwise, we’re likely limited to rolling the dice on some one year deals that could convert to deadline movers. Bottom line: It’s going to be a very fucking long winter.

November 25, 20241 yr I’m surprised even Slater would sign here. He had a pretty crap year last year, but 115 OPS+ from 2020-23 isn’t too shabby. You’d think he could have signed with one of the other 29 teams

He had like a 137 wRC+ against LHP over a four year period, I wouldn’t call that a fringe major leaguer but rather a useful platoon bat. That being said, he obviously could be cooked at this point.
