I faced Jim Dieters in DIII, was mid round draft pick for the Tribe and might have had a shot at MLB before he blew his arm out. I went 0-3 with three K, as a LHB, he was basically unhittable at that level. He was throwing mid to high 80s with a nasty breaking ball. Always fun to see guys from lower levels in pro ball. 46DidIt
At least move Vaughn down to eight if you're insisting on continuing to put him in the lineup. No reason he should be hitting in front of Baldwin, Vargas or Soa at this point

Even 20 years ago most starters were topping out around 92-93. Sitting above that was considered elite velo. Now you're lucky to see anybody throwing below 94-95 in any inning. Just a lot of sports science improvement across the board.

Makes no sense.

There was a 14U tournament last weekend where there were at least ten kids who could hit 80. If this is happening in Illinois, can’t imagine the powerhouse states.

Were about to start all star practice and I am scared for some of the velo our kids are going to see against some of these other area leagues. Its going to be a shock to them for sure. Some of these other leagues in the Houston area have thousands of kids, so we have no where close to the talent pool and typically get killed in these LL tournys. Yeah you’re going to probably see 75-78 from the best kids, if not higher

We have 1 kid that can throw low 70s and one that’s like 65-67. Majority of the kids we face throw 45-50 and can’t throw strikes.
