Finally some good news in regards to a new White Sox stadium. Looks like the new Bears stadium situation should be finalized soon. Also, I read where the owners of the Tampa Bay Rays want the taxpayers to contribute over $1Billion dollars towards a new Rays stadium in Tampa. The owners said they have to know by this coming April 1, 2026. Wonder what happens if the money is not approved . Will they move the franchise?

  • The Sox aren’t moving to Nashville or anywhere. Nashville will get an expansion team or nothing.

Move them to Montreal.

Has @tray weighed in on this yet?

Silt bed quality, enough room for plenty of parking, ingress and egress options, etc.?

Perhaps busy mapping out the circuitous route the dump trucks will have to take to haul away all the toxic waste to build Private Equity Field. Then he'll come here and have a meltdown over this latest news.

My first guess would be to Orlando.

To answer @WBWSF 's question, yes I think the new owners would move the Rays if they don't get a stadium deal done. They're no way they're staying at Tropicana Field long-term.

Tampa Bay hasn't supported a team, Miami hasn't supported a team. Why move them to another Florida location where they won't be supported?

LV and Orlando would really test the viability of touristic cities being sustainable for season ticket sales...
