What’s the Sox record since May 1st?

Not good. Bad even. Saw this a couple days ago (also below), not May 1 but I guess June 15. I thought it was funny that the Sox and Mets had the same record -- then the Mets went 3-1 and the Sox 0-4 (it says 3 days ago, but I'm pretty sure it's like 3 days and 20 hours). "Fartacus" probably didn't make that post to highlight a Sox vs Mets rivalry I've made up, maybe more so that the Ugly Sox have been very good and the Giants really bad (Red Sox 3-1 and Giants have won 5 in a row however. Devers is still really good but I digress).

Can't imagine the winning percentage improving from here on out, although the schedule is fairly easy. All the call-ups we expected are here, the pitching staff is depleted, guys are injured and probably being rested. Glad Tauchman finally got a day off, but where's Robertson? Rest Benintendi, never play Taylor again (he's fine but pointless), get Fletcher and Julks back up here. Give those three outfielders a shot and we have a better understanding of what to do next offseason (probably cut all of them).

I’ll never understand what Getz is doing.  Sure, Fletcher, DeLoach, and Robertson could all suck, but why did you acquire them to barely give them at bats over the course of two losing seasons when a guy like MAT is still getting starts?

agreed. our man is lost in space to be sure.

actually, I completely forgot about DeLoach.

also, the duck dynasty guy is apparently named Will Robertson. another thing I forgot about.

Exactly.

Tauchman will be back next year.  He’s going to get his salary arbitration and his daughter’s same doctor care.  He’s happy.  Benintendi already signed for millions that he isn’t earning.  Neither of these guys are likely going to b1tch if you give them some time off in yet another horrible losing season to get some other outfielders some playing time.  And if they do b1tch, who cares?  They won’t be around for the next competitive Sox team anyways.  So fuggem if they actually do b1tch.

And people can argue that Fletcher, DeLoach, and Robertson are garbage.  I won’t disagree.  They probably are.  But we already know for sure what Benintendi and Tauchman are — one is an overpaid pile of suck and the other is an old, oft-injured, average at best right fielder.  Stop wasting at bats on these guys…

Getz is simply terrible at managing a roster, considering his team sucks, he has plenty of flexibility to do whatever he wants, and he has an owner who is on the way out and is never going to fire him.

And yeah, when I first googled Will Robertson, Duck Dynasty bullshit came up.  🤣

90% agree, but I'd put Robertson on Venable.

GM’s absolutely own what their managers do these days in baseball.  And if it isn’t that way for a historically losing team over the last 3 seasons, the Sox are even dumber than we think…

Not to mention Robertson has probably been the least utilized player over the last two seasons...

Why would a manager pine for a guy he was going to just let wither on the bench?

Because he’s crushing it in AAA, Robert is done, and your other options are MAT and the same overpaid suck in LF.  Perfect time to give a dude playing time.

He makes it look very easy.

Imagine if White Sox still had Crochet, Giolito and Rodon in the White Sox rotation instead of in Boston and New York.

It would have been sweet but the timing would have never worked out with cheapskate Jerry.

Crochet is the only guy they would have paid for this year.  Giolito is at $19 million and Rodon is at $27 million for the season.  Crochet is only at $3.8 million for this season but his salary is about to jump to $24 million starting next season on his new extension and it increases from there.  Jerry would not have approved any one of their new contracts.

They’d still suck. Garbage bullpen and offense rated 2nd to last place in MLB by fWAR.

Are you sure?  I thought the bullpen was middle of the pack, and have you double-checked their record since May 1st?

Someone make a new thread?

Doesn't seem like it. I came here to post about how Stone just said he experienced "premature exhilaration".

Baldwin has to figure out a way to be more calm in big spots.  Frequently overswings, and it’s no shock his numbers are horrible with RISP.

He basically skipped all the necessary development jumping to the Sox from AA last year...still very raw in terms of baseball IQ.

Give someone else a shot besides Alexander

The past several times he's come on, I've that video of that Raptors fan yelling "NO, IT'S TYLER ALEXANDER, NOT THIS GUY" stuck in my head. Or Rudy Gay, whatever.
