He doesn't seem to be the guy you want to bring in with runners on base. Pretty low whiff/K rate. Give him a clean inning. Dude still has a 3 ERA.

But that ball was really softly hit. I'm blaming it on the manager.

Feels like his era doesn’t accurately reflect, a lot of the runs he has given up are put on the prior pitcher.  I haven’t looked at it but he never seems to hold a messy situation

I tend to agree. I guess his 'left on base' percentage is 83.6% which is quite high. But it feels like he's blown it in a lot of high leverage situations. There's some 'leverage index' stat, but I'm not sure how to interpret it.

edit: he ranks really low in it according to Fangraphs 'pLI'. 76th of all relievers.

Looks like the Sox just want to get back to their hotel as quickly as possible.

FG had them finishing 63-99.

Need to go 6-8 to get there...odds are with the way NYM are playing the Padres won't have to contest those games next weekend so desperately.

Then again, SD plays three early next week against the Mets on the road and who knows what will happen the way both teams have been playing.  Mets could just as easily sweep them.

Bibee has a CG this year

true, but he gave up 5 runs in it. 8 inning CG. He looks unbeatable in this one.

Seems like it. Feels like a guy you want to bring in for the 6th or 7th. Grant is leading the team in this stat. But I dunno what the stat really means.

this is what I'm looking at

This happened down on the farm. Was watching LHP Shane Murphy on the second monitor and he looked really good. One hard hit ball that didn't score. Lots of groundballs. Out after 54 pitches in his second AAA start. I think this guy is starting for the Sox to begin 2026.

Are they sending him to the AFL?

That's one big indicator of organizational confidence...at one point it was Schultz Braden Antonacci...can't remember the 2-3 others.

Now Schultz out.

Doesn't look like it. Seems like a better prospect than most of the pitchers they are sending though. For instance, Connor McCullough is going, is almost two years older, and is a level behind. Tyler Davis is about to turn 27 and is at Birmingham.

Murphy got the promotion to AAA and is lights out in 2 starts. Doesn't have huge stuff. Spring Training will be interesting.

Contact pitchers don't usually fare well in AZ...going to have to simply quiet critics/doubters with effectiveness.

Cleveland is gonna dominate this series, unlike the Sox they actually prepare for these games and scout our players properly

Na.  Don't give the Cleveland's more credit than they deserve.
