Rooting for the Jays but excited for this going 7

Ohtani (can probably go 2-4 innings)/Glasnow vs. Scherzer (normal rest)/Bieber (3 day's rest).

Smoltz astutely noted Ohtani likely to start since he could still be pulled and keep hitting...

Scherzer I think is 41...

Oldest WS starter...

At 45 years 342 days, Jamie Moyer (USA, b. 18 November 1962) of the Philadelphia Phillies (USA) became the oldest pitcher to make his World Series debut when he started Game 3 of the 2008 World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays (USA) on 25 October 2008.

Kenny Rogers (Detroit/2006) and Curtis Schilling the others at 41/40 to win WS games.

Ki-ke Hernandez has made some great plays out there in left this postseason.

Barger as the tying run simply has to make sure the ball gets down first.

Springer left on deck before he could do the Kirk Gibson impression.

Ran into a DP on an easy fly ball. Nothing special about the catch. Dumbass.

“Given the situation, really fast guy at second base, I was like, I’m going to play really, really shallow and if he hits it over my head, kudos to him,” Hernandez told Fox after the game. “I fell like his pop is more to the pull side. Somehow, I was able to hear the bat broke, even with that crowd. The crazy thing is that I didn’t no idea where the ball was because it was in the lights the whole time.

“Given the situation of the game and World Series on the line and how good I was hitting, I was like, ‘It’s going to hit me in the face, but I’m not stopping, I’m not pulling up.’ And then at the very end the ball came out of the lights and into my glove.”

68th percentile sprint speed from Barger...

The stat that defined the game: In the past 30 years, there have been five players to pitch 15-plus innings in the World Series and allow two runs or fewer: Randy Johnson in 2001, Josh Beckett in 2003, Jon Lester in 2013, Madison Bumgarner in 2014 -- and Yoshinobu Yamamoto in 2025, according to ESPN Research. Each of the previous four saw their team win the World Series.

Of course, no WS winner since the 1962 Yankees have won with a team batting average below .200, either.

Ohtani has actually been terrible this series except for game 3.

His stuff was awful from the get go. The 3 run shot, out after 2.1 was inevitable.
Feels to me like an ezwin for the blue jays tonight. Can’t rule out the Dodgers bats I guess but Scherzer looks real good thus far.

I think he’s looked like crap. Dodgers have 7 balls with exit velocities above 100 mph already

What a b**** move by Gimenez, trying to throw his hand at a pitch to get hit. Then he gets hit and complains about it lol.

That should be an automatic strike if a batter gets hit on purpose (had he been hit).

The reliever with no command hit him. Nothing to clear the benches about IMO but he didn’t throw his hands out.

That did not look natural. You don't move your hand towards the ball like that if you're not trying to get hit.

He 100% did on the pitch before he was actually hit.

I dunno, don’t recall, but I’d try to get on base in game 7 of the World Series too. The actual HBP was fine. That guy, along with Ohtani, had no command. Play to win.

In the replay it was clear he tried to get hit
