Not a fantasy guy by any means, but both Oppor and Jeral Perez made breakout dynasty fantasy lists for BA.

12 MLB Prospects Posting Impressive 90th Percentile Exit Velocities

Braden Montgomery, OF, White Sox

Level Bats Age PA P/PA IZMiss Chase 90thEV Hit95+%

Triple-A S 23 116 3.98 24% 24.30% 108.6 mph 57.80%

Note that, while the White Sox promoted Montgomery to Triple-A Charlotte to begin the week, the above data is from his first month with Double-A Birmingham (though he also just had his first big night at the new level).

The switch-hitting Montgomery is one of the premier power prospects in the minors at the moment. He hit .313/.429/.606 with six home runs over the first 27 games of 2026. His exit velocity data is impressive and even more so when you factor in his switch-hitting. Montgomery’s quality of contact is high from both sides of the plate, making power his carrying tool.

Montgomery’s in-zone whiff rate is slightly higher than you’d like to see, though. For a power hitter with this level of quality of contact, you’re typically going to see some level of whiffs, but getting below 20% would likely unlock another gear for Montgomery. The whiff numbers are better against righthanded pitching, leading to fewer platoon concerns, as he’s better vs. the strong side.

With continued performance, Montgomery could be up in Chicago within a few weeks hitting bombs alongside Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery.

A couple of weeks?

A couple of months seems more likely.

Pereira/Kelenic/Hays/Peters will get some run until they have no other choice.

Jacob Gonzalez suddenly in the of isn't very realistic.

Yeah I think they prolly need to see at least all of May and June AAA data from him to get a decent sample size and especially K%.
