Pretty realistic/knowledgeable appraisal.

Antonacci with a mention.

Bonemer and Braden not yet a factor, along with the 2026 picks.

Pitching at mlb level ranked just 3/10.

Obvious weakness there.

Comparison-wise, one would think that the 2019 White Sox were definitely Top 3-5 in this category...so still a lot of work (and FA spending to go).

Tigers and Guardians remain far out in front...especially Detroit.

Cubs, btw, at 16th here.

If you go by 6th-8th high rankings for MiLB and 20 (low, McDaniel and ESPN), it averages out to around 13.5.

Ofc, not counting Cholowsky and the second rounder...and still unknown whether Hagen Schultz Oppor McDougal all get to season's end with under 50 big league innings pitched.

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/47684217/2026-mlb-prospect-rankings-farm-systems-kiley-mcdaniel-brewers-guardians-pirates-dodgers-mets

mlb pipeline

"The youth movement is underway in the South Side. Former Top 100 prospect Colson Montgomery was recently named as one of MLB's Top 100 players by MLB Network, and there’s more where that came from. Sharing the same name, Braden Montgomery (No. 36), shined across three levels in 2025, reaching Double-A. Left-handers Noah Schultz (No. 49) and Hagen Smith (No. 72) are nearing the Majors and could bolster Chicago’s rotation sometime in 2026. In the lower levels, Caleb Bonemer (No. 61) and Billy Carlson (No. 73) are both recent draftees who provide exciting tools from the left side of the infield."

will be relevant with Cholowsky

"Because of that, the Pirates' figure is boosted by Griffin residing in the top spot in the whole sport. And my point here is that he is the top prospect by a lot -- he basically broke the algorithm I made to help with this process -- so the gap between him and the next few prospects feels correct this time. If you were to simply take Griffin out of the Pirates' system, they'd drop to the middle of these rankings; and since Griffin might break camp with the big league team, that could happen as soon as a few months into the major league season."

Another interesting point is the Twins finishing behind the Sox at the yahoo 26 and under list but well ahead at espn (8th vs. 20th)...part of that is Murakami based.

20. Chicago White Sox ($153 million)

Last year: 2nd, $313 million

Should also be noted the White Sox suffered one of the biggest slides from 2 to 20 under McDaniel.

Loss of $160 million in FV...what with all the 2025 graduations.

That $313 would have put them  behind Milwaukee Cleveland Pittsburgh ($314 million) and ahead of the Dodgers coming into THIS season.

Ofc part of that is Braden Montgomery at #189 vs. 36 or so.

For reference, White Sox were all the way down at 28th last year.

Jumped from 1/10 for big league hitters up to 6/10.

MLB pitching just 1/10.  Now up to 3/10.

"Aging/ancient Dodgers still 12th at 26 and under players..."

"Josue De Paula has intergalactical offensive upside, with an advanced eye and an orchard of juice. If he optimizes his swing plane for lift, watch out. Zyhir Hope is one of the best athletes in the minors, a power-speed dynamo with huge swing-and-miss concerns. He either needs to stick in center or upgrade his hit tool to break onto L.A.’s stacked big-league roster. Still just 21, he has time. Alex Freeland got his doors blown off during a cup of coffee in 2025. That short stint amplified questions about whether he can play short and how much contact he’ll make.

Whether any of these prospects ends up playing for the Dodgers is somewhat beside the point. The position-player depth in this system — we’ve yet to mention guys like Eduardo Quintero, Mike Sirota or Charles Davalan — will allow Friedman and Co. to be aggressive in the trade market if the opportunity presents itself. Los Angeles has the horses on the farm to acquire pretty much anybody in baseball — and yes, that includes Tarik Skubal."— J.M.

37 Treinen

36 Freeman, Rojas

35 Muncy

34 Br.Stewart

33 Snell, Betts, Teoscar

32 Glasnow

31 T.Scott, EdDiaz, Call, Ohtani

30 W.Smith, Edman

29 K.Tucker

E.Henriquez and River Ryan deserve a mention too...very very young bullpen after the three vets at the back end.

Sir, this is a Wendy's

What the f*** is the point of coming to the thread and making a comment when you're going to be such an asshole?

Excuse me if I enjoy baseball.

Maybe if you actually read articles about baseball you might learn something.

I actually enjoyed taking time off for six weeks and used it more productively.

This is part of the reason why our country is so fucked up now.  It's certainly part of the reason why there's so much vitriol online.  There's no accountability or conscience...all the times I've attended Sox games in person, it was a great experience and a memorable time sharing that same passion with fellow   Sox fans (except for a few memorable drunks).

People have forgotten what civility is...how to treat others as they would like to be treated.  I just attributed it to the differences between people from Chicago and the way Iowans (used to) treat each other in real life. We used to be tolerant of others while realizing what made us different or unique from one another was a strength and not a weakness to be exploited.

You realize you're acting like this towards someone who is 56 years old and retired, right?

I think Cali and RayRay have it right.

He doesn't waste time ignoring people or going out of the way to comment on something if he doesn't care for a particular poster or feels they have nothing constructive to add to the conversation.

Sure, you won some likes on the internet, laughed or ganged up on someone, got to be an internet bully for a day.

Hopefully that brought great joy to your life and earned you some points somewhere, with someone.

At one point (twenty years ago) I thought this board was such a positive thing because it brought Sox fans together, but a number of the interactions in the last 3-5 years are just about tearing people down because there's nothing positive to discuss about their favorite baseball team.

I could celebrate from Colombia with fellow Sox fans while the team was winning the World Series a continent away.

It was sort of like a family with the same old predictable characters you'd meet at a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

Having no brothers and sisters and now no parents...it was also a home at times.

I'm not so sure anymore.

Does something in your life affirm you or does it tear you down?

Wow.  The point was that it was a joke, application of a frequently recycled internet meme like "TLDR" or "I ain't readin' all that".  It was intended as a light jab since, you know, you posted like 10 times in a row.  But based on this response it appears it impacted you in a pretty profound way, so while I think you're thin-skinned (and have misdiagnosed "why our country is so fucked up right now") I now I confess that I feel a little guilty.  So don't let me stop you, list away.

borders on political stuff........that was predictable

Well...since I was less than 10km from Ground Zero of Covid breaking out in Wuhan and went through almost three years of lockdowns, left that part out.

Actually quite fascinating how a country of 1.4 billion could so easily be controlled virtually overnight...as almost no one lives in regular two story individual houses or apartments with all parking underneath the building.

Every building/complex has a gate (or multiple ones) and extensive fencing with security cameras.

The way I was asked/accused of living in "Chy-nah" was why I answered in this fashion.

It's fine.

A mod will come along and erase it anyway.

It wasn't so much the original comment as the constant "piling on" effect.

(Well, at least one poster reached out to apologize so that was well appreciated.  Everyone is a human being behind their screen names, after all.)

Reds/Pirates/Brewers 5/3/1

A's 4 and Mariners 2

NL West and Central basically opposites, with 3 in the bottom 5 teamteams then 3 in the Top 5 along with StL and the Cubs in #11-15 band.
