The fans were so disgusted after the 2nd one squibbed by. I personally enjoyed it as seeing Naylor's 1000 career OPS against the Sox every time he batted was annoying.

Man that's a bad look for Dan Wilson. You let Castillo put the first two guys on, get to 50 pitches, then you bring in the "closer": in a game and series you expect to win on the way to the playoffs you totally let fan sentiment and your own feel good BS blow a game.

Robin vibes 100%.

Closer should have been in to start that inning 100%

Someone on Lookout Landing said "well you have to try and keep him stretched out". JFC. That is some White Sox style logic. No, you have to try and put the team in the best position to win. This half assed demotion for Castillo helped lose them one last night. Oh well, we'll take not being the dumbest guy in the room on a nightly basis.

Yeah dude's got a 6.5 ERA basically. Let's let him work the 9th in this close game haha

Once Miller gave them the performance he did, the "piggyback" should have gone out the window.

And that double steal - who's idea was that!

Maybe Sam A. put the bug in Will's ear...? 😉

There was no problem using Castillo in relief. But look at that 9th inning. Mune, Vargas, Colson due up. That's where you either go get a trusted lefty (may have already burned their only one?) or just your most trusted reliever, period. If you're up by three, sure keep Castillo stretched out and maybe give him some momentum. But it's a 1-run game. I bet Munoz's poor start to the season played a role in the decisionmaking too.

One of my biggest pet peavs in managing is not letting the closer get the clean inning. And I know it bothers closers too as it's outside their routine. Munoz has been poor but if the closer is the closer you let him do his thing, not "piggy back" off another reliever, like apparently the Ms are trying.

I’m sure we can all relate to this feeling.

Do you like him more than the James Shields guy?
