Right now, one can't count on anyone but Newcomb and maybe Hudson. Injuries, right? Did anyone actually believe Hicks could get sorted out or that Dominguez's career wasn't trending downwards due to overuse and now being miscast in the closer's role that Toronto and Philly largely shielded him from?

June 24Jun 24 When Mune comes back I would think Vargas will be at 3rd most of the time with Benny/Grichuk at DH. Acuna will probably get an occasional spot start at SS now and then. Over the years defense has been nerve racking as a fan. At the Metrodome I feared the ball hit to Jose Valentin would cost the Sox the ballgame. Now the Sox are solid up the middle and it is a team strength.
