Montgomery's defense at short...

I'm really happy for you that you have opinions. One can complain about anything being a crisis, and if you wait long enough, something will happen. I suppose I should be flattered that you really need my validation, to the point where you seem obsessed with not getting it.

Yes, Colson is probably the better shortstop. Does it matter in the one or two games a week he plays 3B? No. Acuña is a very good shortstop, also. There is not much drop off when Acuña platoons in. Your shtick is pretending it's costing the team games, when it really isn't. I support you in fantasizing that Colson gets Jones out.

What says Acuna is a very good shortstop? I asked yesterday but I must have missed your answer in my quest for WE validation.

I find it hilarious that you talk about how you want the Sox to win so much but then root for them to lose because Acuna is at short. I want them to do what gives them the best chance to win. Because I want to win. I'm a TRUE FAN. Trademarked.

Well, it appears that Veneable also has missed the boat as have the White Sox as an org. Heck there's some fans that refuse to give him his due and think he and Acuna are similar.

It was obvious within like 2 weeks of watching him last year. He never gets a bad hop as he has some of the best reactions you'll ever see despite unorthodox mechanics. Like they don't teach you to ta

All prospect reports I've read say Acuña's a good shortstop. My eye test also verifies that. Some days I choose to not click on and open your comments. Those are good days.

It's also important to realize that demanding an answer from somebody doesn't really obligate that person to sit down and type out an answer for you.

Acuna was a "capable" shortstop but a plus second baseman.

Thanks for reading. Make sure to hit that like and follow button!

To be fair, you are chasing people anyone around who questions Acuna over Montgomery as if you are obsessed at correcting anything that questions the White Sox decision making, pretending that nothing has any consequences when people can see differently right in front of them.

I see a SS in Colson's near future, a GG down the line.

One of the more impressive things about him in my observation is his internal clock. He reminds me of Tony Fernandez in that respect.

“To be honest” would be more accurate.

@Look at Ray Ray Run has truly been complaining about this for awhile, and it just made a big difference in a close game.

So what does Venable do in the very next game against the team’s biggest competition for the division?

Starts Acuna at SS and Montgomery at 3B again. 🤣

Lmao, of course he plays Colson at 3B today. Venable is a joke.

If we have learned anything from the moden political scene, it is much easier to invalidate people versus actually doing the work to debate fact based opinions.

I know he's been complaining about it for a while. He does it in every single string for the attention. Is Venable supposed to scrap his entire platoon plan because one knucklehead complains about something that makes perfect sense? LOL. It's a bit he's doing. Just like people scream about openers or bunting, even when they work properly.

Tonight is not a platoon plan since Williams is righty. Gonzalez has been flat bad the last week plus, so he’s trying something different.

Thank you. Which is what good managers do. Acuña's swinging a hot stick, lately.

How do you chase someone on a message board ? You don't have to chase him to find his opinion about 25 times on Colson playing third. You want people to use facts ? Let him support it with facts about how bad it is. Use games played with Colson at 3rd and Acuna at SS . Use Won /Loss, use errors in that alignment, use something beside innuendo & his own thoughts about what makes him more right than the whole Sox organization, which we already know.

Pot calling the kettle black. Fair ?? 🤣🤣🤣 You have no clue what fair means. And if he @WestEddy feels like backing the White Sox he must think he is being FAIR to Getz and his regime because he saw signs he was doing things right when most were screaming FIRE EVERYONE ! Of course you were nowhere to be found because you only stick up for people who bash the Sox like you have since Getz was hired. Really fair !! You should be a member of the Supreme Court ! 🤣🤣🤣 Being fair is being an impartial arbiter and you, brother , are NOT that , not even close.

I've posted tons of supporting evidence. Sorry that you've been watching baseball for 100 years and you still don't understand that shortstop is more valuable than third and you want to play the best defender there. Maybe you'll figure it out one day. We're all rooting for you!

Colson is the best player on the team. He's also the best defensive player on the team. No one else in baseball history has taken an elite defensive shortstop and moved him around the diamond. No one. In the history of the game. Colson has earned his right to stick at his position. He's having one of the greatest starts to a career in MLB history.

So put him at third base. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

Colson had never played third in his life prior to the Veneable. Ask him, he'll tell you. Acuna is a utility player who has moved all around. This isn't complicated at all. Acuna should play third.

With Mune out and Vargas at 1B what are the alternatives?

Manny Machado?

Although you also mean playing second and first and not just 3B? (Ofc Colson has never played second either)

WestEddy simply defends/parrots whatever Getz and Venable do and say. Many seem to believe Venable doesn’t make those decisions in terms of the lineup and positioning…so it’s very hard to separate them in these theoretical arguments.

“Acuna and Colson are considered within the organization to be equals defensively”? Okay…or it’s just Getz just trying too hard to justify Acuna’s role on the team?

“Getz/JR are forcing Venable to play Benintendi”…which has actually worked out, sort of

“Dominguez is our closer” (because Getz anointed and paid him as one?)

Well, he is until Taylor or Hudson or god forbid Hicks replace him. Probably as soon as tonight’s game.

If you look at Acuna's splits for the last 7, 14, 28 days he has really turned it around at the plate. As the season continues, he can be a very valuable spot starter, pinch hitter/runner, late inning replacement. and possible trade piece.

When was Manny Machado an elite Shortstop who was moved? He didn't play a single game at shortstop in the big leagues until 2015.

Formerly ticketed to be a perennial All-Star shortstop, he’s settled in at the hot corner, and if Machado can stay healthy going forward, some believe he has a chance to be a top five third baseman of all time.

Per Baseball Savant/Statcast for their careers at SS Acuna has averaged one out above replacement every 294 innings, Colson has averaged one out above replacement every 65 innings. It's pretty clear they aren't close defensively. Acuna is currently -1 for the year at SS and -2 in CF.

Machado was a top 15 shortstop prospect. JJ Hardy was the Orioles' shortstop, they had an opening at 3B, so Machado moved over.
