Mason Adams for AAA

Mason with a clunker tonight.

Same for Gabe Davis

Gabe Davis continues to struggle in AA.

The pitching development in the minors this season has been truly dreadful.

Wolkow with two doubles…OPS approaching .800

Davis was the one shining star too.

Whelp, so much for calling up Mason Adams.

Huge day for both of them. Vielma is only 16 years old too. Batting .387 with a 1.110 OPS.

Eh. I think he will still factor in at some point. Clunkers happen and he's coming back from TJ.

Just the lack of progress with key pitching prospects and no-one emerging on the starting pitching side is super disappointing.

I feel like there are maybe 3-4 players I look at the box score for, and just skim the rest (Bonemer, Wolkow, Hagen Smith and Fauske)

Next year, Vielma. If he's old enough to leave the DR.

I feel that way too this year, but at least we've had a few guys graduate to the big leagues this year so it kind of feels like a reward for following them the past few years.

Kanny has been a box score I check regularly, lots of talent in that lineup besides Fauske when Carlson and Mogollon are healthy. I'd also add Boughton to that group, he's had a really good June. Seemed to tap into some power and developed some patience at the plate. Could be a sleeper next year.

Boughton might have the best looking swing of any of the prospects

I found the interview with him posted here recently pretty interesting, sounds like they've had him work on his timing and he mentioned how he can see what they're pitching him now. It looks like it's been working, he's done a good job of increasing his walk rate while cutting down his K rate. Also really encouraged hearing the coaching staff actively working with the young guys throughout the season, it always seemed like it was set it and forget it with the previous regime.

I think the drafting/evaluation of amateur pitching has been less than exemplary overall. I also wonder if we just don't draft enough pitchers. The success rate is really low, so you need a lot more prospects.

Well a rough night for a lot of the farm. One bright side note, Wikelman Gonzales with a scoreless inning at AAA.
