Impressive all around. Cardozo and Romero are both 17. Theyve both shown solid power (5 and 7 HRs respectively). Cardozo is actually batting .337 now.

Another guy who I thought would make it is Carlos Vielma. He's putting up impressive stats as a 16 year old. I think he's injured though. Encouraging signs in DSL. I can't remember the last time theyve had this many young guys playing this well in DSL. It's usually a bunch of trash. See the link below if you want to look into their stats.

There are some interesting guys for sure. One would think that with only one team, instead of the two some organizations have, that they might have a better record than 11-21.

That's what crazy. you think they would be more like 21-11 with NOT splitting guys between two teams.

Probably a combination of everything, talent, coaching, and facilities. With the new complex opening soon, hopefully the facilities part is handled. Hope it comes with the necessary bells and whistles.

Currently the Sox have one team in the DSL. They will have two after they open their new facility. Many orgs already have two DSL teams. @southsider2k5 expressed surprise that despite NOT splitting their talent, the Sox still have such a terrible record in the DSL.

Sox only have one team. Some other teams split into two teams, which will water down the talent level of each of the two teams. Since the Sox only have one team, it’s not watered down at all, which is why you expect their record to be much better.

Marte pitched a scoreless inning with 2 K, Cardozo struck out in his 1 AB, and Romero had an RBI groundout for what ended up being the decisive run in a 7-6 win for the AL.

Alternatively, having only one team means you still have to find playing time for the lagging players instead of prioritizing the best performers. The Padres have a team that's 25-9, and the other is 7-26.

There are also teams with two solid teams (Giants are 20-14 and 19-14) or two bad teams (Red Sox are 11-21 and 10-22). Just not really much correlation either way when you're developing teenagers for the most part.
