He doesn’t walk guys. He induces a lot of weak contact early in counts.

He was known for his good command. Career 2.47 BB/9 in the minors (would be top ~25 in MLB) with a sub 1 WHIP.

Carlson has reached base all five times. 3-3 with 2 BBs.

He walked three in four innings tonight. I know it's one night.

So let's look at how he did in the big leagues when he was up.

44 innings with 21 walks. Good for 4.26/9. Not great. From what I remember, guys were able to foul balls off, extend at-bats, thus leading to more walks.

93-94 is pretty much the norm for a Sox pitching prospects.
Do any of the draftees this year have velocity? I know they have funky deliveries, odd arm slots, pitch shapes, and I would guess spin...but velocity?
