I know I'm in the minority here, but that Gonzalez trade was stupid. If you were going to trade him, trade him for pitching to help this team now and throw in Boston Smith in that deal to get someone to help for this playoff push.

But we needed a better pitcher/s than Castillo.

According to Steve Stone (sometime earlier this season) the fallout from a 3am type arrival doesn’t effect the game you’re playing that day but rather the game the following day…..which will be tomorrow.

Yea, I suspect they were asking for Carlson to be included and Getz balked. We’ll see if his power comes around and his trade value climbs.

In one way I don’t mind prospect hugging but in another way… if they’re going to go for it this year… they should have gone further at the deadline.

On a scale of 1 to 10 of deadline aggression, Getz gets a 3.4 this year… and who knows… next year this team may find itself sitting at third place in August of 27… if there’s even baseball.

So many questions… so little time.
