August 9Aug 9 What a great problem to have. Toomany top IF prospects. If Roch is the real deal then colson and Carlson could be expendable for stud pitching.

August 9Aug 9 Jairo is out there throwing almost all fastballs and not getting a ton of strikeouts as a result. He's keeping the walks mostly in check which was a problem for him in the low minors. But the low strikeouts also limits his upside. And it's not obvious why he's getting way with such a fastball heavy approach. He has an unusual release which is something Bannister talked about when Jairo was acquired. Both low angle and very high extension so it seems to come out of the middle of his body which is a weird thing. Not sure what the upside is unless he comes up with a swing and miss secondary pitch, though. Between the release point being almost center cut and the fact he seems to like his changeup, he has almost reversed splits, propelled by the fact he strikes out lefties a lot more than righties.
