Tuesday at 10:20 PM3 days With the CBA expiring on Dec 1st and uncertainty of when baseball will be back, I have to imagine November will be a busy month for trades and free agency. Depending on how long the lock out last there might not be much other time for trades and signing between that getting down and having spring training. Free agency should start next week.

Free agency should start next week.I hope you're right. I've read elsewhere that there won' be many trades or free agent signings until after the lockout is over.
Tuesday at 11:53 PM3 days I'll be curious to see how this plays out. I'm guessing some teams will be aggressive wanting to lock in players and deals as quickly as possible while others will be hesitant not knowing what the ground rules will be in the next CBA.

Yesterday at 12:08 AM1 day Dustin May already opted out of his mutual option with Brewers.Wouldn't be surprised to see Sox connected at all.In theory will be in that $15-20 / year price range for 2-3 seasons, probably two with an option year based on incentives being met."Dustin May declined his end of a $20MM mutual option with the Brewers, reports Jon Heyman of The New York Post. He’ll collect a $500K buyout and return to the open market. This was a formality, as mutual options are essentially never triggered by both sides. (Milwaukee would likely have passed on their end of the $20MM provision as well.) May signed a one-year, $12.5MM free agent deal with the Cardinals last winter. St. Louis flipped him to the Brewers alongside reliever JoJo Romero, netting a pair of high-upside outfield prospects for the impending free agents." Edited yesterday at 12:10 AM1 day by caulfield12
Yesterday at 01:31 AM1 day The Brewers also face a decision on first baseman Andrew Vaughn. Swartz projects an $8.5MM salary for Vaughn, who was a part-time player in 2026 and posted a .306/.390/.444 in 331 trips to the plate. He saw regular action against lefties and pummeled them at a .336/.421/.517 clip while posting closer to average offense versus righties. The Brewers typically don’t spend much money at first base. Vaughn could reasonably be pressed into an everyday role, but Milwaukee could consider a trade or even a non-tender, thereby reallocating those dollars while pursuing a more affordable option at first.mlbtraderumors.com
7 hours ago7 hr MLB Trade RumorsAstros Hire Randy Flores As General ManagerIn a surprise turn of events, it's Randy Flores -- not Matt Kleine -- who's now the Astros general manager. MLB Trade Rumors has more.Brewers' AGM apparently turned it down, not getting the specific title he was going afterJosh Barfield one of 5-6 finalists.
7 hours ago7 hr Michael Soroka has officially declined his end of a $10MM mutual option with the Diamondbacks, reports Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic. He’ll be paid a $1MM buyout and return to free agency. This was inevitable, as Soroka has put himself in position to do pretty well financially. The Diamondbacks picked him up on a $7.5MM deal last offseason. (He earned an additional $1.35MM in performance bonuses by starting 20 games.) He was initially slated to open the season in a swing role, but an Opening Day injured list stint for Merrill Kelly drew him into the starting five.
1 hour ago1 hr Baseball problems are none of my concern such as payroll, free agents or retro stadiums. Too many legit distractions to mess with their future fans.
9 minutes ago9 min https://nypost.com/2026/10/30/sports/kaima-taira-takes-first-step-toward-mlb-jump-with-yankees-interest/45 days to signbut that get suspended on December 2nd, or that's the deadline for signing regardless?here's the answer...Teruaki Sato has a chance to make that same kind of impact (as Murakami), as he finished last season with a .306/.383/.609 slashline with 39 home runs and 106 RBI. But his serious swing-and-miss potential and malleable defensive position may be enough to give teams some pause. And it’s not just those factors that could impact his free agency, the impending lockout could also come right in the middle of his posting window. If he doesn’t sign before the impending lockout on Dec. 1, his posting window would be paused until the lockout ends. All those factors could lead to Sato falling into the price range for an American League middle-market team (Tigers?). If that happens, it won’t take long for him to become a Guardians villain.
