Guest JimH
OK, so they have three more additions they want to make, per the article in the paper today. Those being, a left handed hitting backup outfielder, a veteran reliever, and a backup 3B. Any thoughts as to who it could be? My one guess for the backup infielder is Hocking. As for a left handed hitting outfielder, who knows, but they need somebody who can actually play in CF, not like Armando Rios last year, he was worthless. Veteran relievers? There are a ton of them still out there right now. My guess is a right hander since they're pretty well set from the left side.

My guess is the decisions will be based on whomever's name is pulled out of the hat... and whether they will agree to take 75% of their salary deferred
israel4ever
:fthecubs :fthecubs What about a starting pitcher or two, a starting 2nd baseman and a starting centerfielder. :fthecubs
The Critic
What about a starting pitcher or two, a starting 2nd baseman and a starting centerfielder. Too expensive, too expensive, and too expensive for this cash-strapped owner in this tiny tiny market.....
Wong & Owens
How about Eric Owens, Todd Zeile and Turk Wendell? or maybe............................................................................................... ........ Greg Norton, Rick White and McKay Christansen??????????
Cali
The article also says that those three needs will probably be filled within the organization

elrockinMT
I say we make a push as Sox fans and demand that Kenny make a run at the "Milkman."
Guest JimH
The article also says that those three needs will probably be filled within the organization There were actually two articles, and it was a little confusing. The last paragraph in the Trib said KW told them he'd be signing another reliever to fill the void left by Gordon and Sullivan (hence me speculating on who it'd be). The Sun-Times says, "The Sox still look to be in the market for a left handed hitting backup outfielder, a backup third baseman, and another reliever. The remainder of the roster - a reliever, a starter, and another bench player is expected to be filled out by players in the system." So I took this as they're looking to sign three guys from outside: one more reliever, the outfielder, and the backup 3B. Then, three from the system: one last reliever, a starter, and a bench guy. I still think Ryan Hankins is a good shot for the last bench job. He can play 1B, 3B, 2B in a pinch and he did some catching in the fall league. Graffanino was the emergency catcher, and he's gone. Chisoxfn
There are still quite a few guys out there. Think about it, Vladdy is still out there and he's possibly the best player when FA began and he's still there. But no, the Sox aren't going to sign him. Rafael may be gone, but I don't see Konerko getting dealt, I just don't think they will get anything for him.

I remember after Norton homered, they both said "Nawton, you da greatest!" Classic moments!
