He seems to have a beat on his pitchers, and he seems to be helping them tremendously. If you don't agree, then maybe we should remember the dark ages under Nardi Contreras and his surgically attached windbreaker. What a moron.

I think he, Kusnyer, and Nossek are the hidden coaching assets that will make Ozzie's first year as manager bearable (sp?) for us. Two good wins today, nice way to kick off the year. Go 2004 White Sox!
March 6, 200422 yr What was that pitch that Loaiza learned to pitch? was it a cutter? Well, whatever it was, Coop is a good asset to have. I think Cotts is learning to throw the same pitch so hopefully that help him also.

I think Cotts is learning to throw the same pitch so hopefully that help him also. Yep, the cutter and your right, Cotts is also throwing the cutter now. The Sox also had Loaiza focus much more on throwing his changeup last season. The Sox taught Cotts the cutter in the AFL this year.
March 6, 200422 yr I believe they said Schoney also picked up a change up this offseason and supposedly it has made him much better. I guess time will tell. I am hopeful though.

March 6, 200422 yr Wow...I haven't been home all day w/ baseball and a sectional game. The first thing I did was look on the ESPN2 Bottomline to see how we did. I was so psyched to see that we had two successful games, and start the ST season 2-0!!
