April 2, 200422 yr I really hope Garland comes into his own this year. I hope Wright has rebounded from surgery and pitches well too. The Sox can use the SP help.
April 2, 200422 yr Wright didn't have surgery. He had some pain in his elbow last spring, which caused him to get behind. He didn't pitch much, and couldn't locate at all. If he has control, he is a very good pitcher. That just hasn't happened consistently yet.
April 3, 200422 yr It just wierd that when Wright starts, he does horrible but when he comes in and pitches 6 innings of long relief, he gets the win!

April 3, 200422 yr i just want 12-14 with many no decisions not losses!!! He's won 12 the last 2 years. I wanna see Jon take a bigger leap than that. Everybody knows the type of talent this kid has. 15-18 would be taking a nice leap. 12-14 is bacially running around in circles...
April 3, 200422 yr yes, but he either won or he lost...it usually wasn't close, i want to see 14 wins and 8 losses...with many no decisions because we are gonna win a lot of late games..and our bullpen will have lots of wins finally... i remember in 02 seeing the yankees bullpen and one of their relievers had more wins than our top pitcher did in the first couple of months of the season...Thats what i want to see... :fthecubs
April 3, 200422 yr I can't wait for JG to do the one thing that Manuel would never let him do: Work his way out of trouble. How is a guy ever going to get any confidence if his manager always has someone warming up in the pen? Garland has the tools to get hitters out. All he needs is the confidence. I think Ozzie will show confidence in him and the results will be more wins for #20.
April 3, 200422 yr I'm waiting for Garland, Rowand, Harris and Olivo to crank it up a notch this year. Hopefully Garland can get 15-18 wins with a 3.00 era. If he does, I'll be very happy with that.
