If Friday's game was must-win, this one is MUST-WIN.

Yanks are starting a scrub. Sox are starting their ace.

Since early 2000, Sox lacked continuity and killer insinct -- they would beat Mussina when nobody expected them to...and then inexplicably take the next day off against some junkballer AAAA'er. Couldn't build any kind of momentum.

Beat the Yanks tommorow and there is less pressure on Danny Wright to perform miracles on Sunday; worse-case scenario, we go into the HomO tied at 3-3 and there is a real chance of a triumphant 4-2 trip home -- how many people expected the Sox to survive this road-trip? That's how media and fans are won.

The sox have a GOOD chance of winning this one tommorow, with MB on the mound, i'm expecting a win. If we can come out of NY with a 3-3 record, I'll be ecstactic, that's a great way to start out a season opening road trip.

Isn't it the norm to expect the Sox to score 4 or less runs today. Last year 8/10 times after scoring 8+ the Sox failed to "grind" any runs that weren't from the longball. Ozz changed our style of play yesterday, hopefully he can keep the momentum going into this afternoon. As Brando pointed out, a win eases the pressure off Danny Wright in the series finale. 3-3 into the homestand is solid after the Cub-esque opening day collapse.

What worry me the most is the fact that we will face a pitcher that the hitters have not faced before. I hope that the hitters read some scout reposrts...

I won't be able to watch the game, I will be at my brothers baseball game.

But, there is no question I will have a portable radio in the stands.

Morning guys..I'm ready for another hell of a game today!

Anyone know who's starting catcher for us today? I need to adjust my fantasy team.

I would guess Sandy, as he is basically Marks catcher.

Ah that's right, I forgot he always catches for Mark..thanks!

It's not the scouting reports/footage or lack thereof -- although you can never put anything past this lame organization.

It's the mindset/approach -- you could have a High School pitcher throwing on the mound, and if most hitters are swinging from their heels, trying to uppercut the ball into the corner in LF as though there is some bulls-eye hot babe prize sign there, without really working the count and spoiling pitcher's pitches......guess what, they will be jamming themselves and pitchers will always exploit that.

It's also psychological. Manuel's teams were at once complacent and insecure. Half the hitters were clearly trying to do too much. The other half, were mired in existential funks. Neither is particularly conducive to hitting.

Here is the starting line-ups:

1. Harris 2B

2. Valentin SS

3. Ordoñez RF

4. Thomas DH

5. Lee LF

6. Konerko 1B

7. Crede 3B

8. Rowand CF

9. Alomar C

Pitching: Buehrle

Skankees

1. Lofton CF

2. Jeter SS

3. Rodriguez 3B

4. Giambi 1B

5. Sheffield RF

6. Posada C

7. Williams DH

8. Matsui LF

9. Cairo 2B

Pitching: Jorge DePaula

They're doing those stupid chants in the bleachers again. I wish the crowd could be muted.
