Reaction to renovations

The roof looks really nice, it gives it a whole new look. I honestly didn't think the park seemed any smaller w/ the 8 rows taken out. The fan deck now has 2 levels, with tables and benches and stuff on them. Very cool, but now very crowded. Besides that, nothing's changed, I had a great time.

From what I've seen on tv, it looks great. I can't wait to get there for the Yankees series.

But then again the game was a sellout so its gonna be more crowded than usual.

I love the way the roof looks now.

From what I saw on Tv it looks pretty sweet. Can't wait to go to a ton of games this summer.

the new roof is fine, my concern was would I feel "indoors" with the overhang roof and the fewer rows but it was acceptably outoorsy for me where I was, today in row 7.

My usual seats are row 5 in the UD and so all if going to be fine there. For those in the last rows that have obstructed seats, that is what I don't like about the roof or roofs in general and what I loved about the original way, not obstructions and I felt that I was outside at a ball game. What we have now looks good, it works visualy, and I will live with it fine.

The change in the fan deck (second level) was real obvious and looks great from the UD perspective.

The 5th-3rd sign was far more colorful than whatever bank replaced it with its signage.

The park looked great. The outside view of the park with the new roof, it looks different but in a year people will forget who it used to be.

It feels so much like home, in fact, it is home.

and I wish I could go home everyday.

I too liked the changes. One thing not mentioned is I think the renovations really cut down on the swirling winds in the seats. But all in all, it looks good.

Did it seem louder at all?....i would think with the roof it would shoot the sound right back into the stadium.

IMO, it didn't seem louder, I don't think having a mini-roof would affect sound all that much.

The renovations make a huge difference aesthetically--it seriously doesn't look like the same place anymore. I really think they did a great job.

I think it looked great!!!!!!!!! :headbang :headbang

the loudest it got was when the fans started chanting Paulie after he hit the homer and he came out for a curtain call.

I liked the fan deck a lot. The view there was really nice. I walked around and noticed in the upperdeck that there where pictures showing past Sox players. It seemed to be cut off though, like it wasn't complete. Did anyone else notice this? I liked this a lot and was wondering if it were going to stretch along the whole upper deck area.

It wasn't supposed to cover the whole deck, which I like so you can still enjoy the nice weather, and backup when it's not.

I think he was talking about the pictures on the walls. They do look like they maybe aren't finished, but I didn't see it up close.

I thought the park looked really nice yesterday, and the improvements were good. I had a blast!

That's what I thought. I agree with you that they look unfinished.

Can you really see the Hancock or Sears Tower from the UD now?

I read that you can but I've not been up there to check it out.

Are they talking about the very top row where the translucent wall is?
