April 18, 200421 yr I don't think so. At the very most, I'd suppose probably a trip to the 15-day DL, and I would guess probably just take a week off and just pinch hit late if necessary. But do not take that like it is a guarantee...I'm just using my best judgement, and my best judgement could be very bad.

Did you see him limping off next to joey cora?? frank is like three times wider and twice as tall. one of those guys who pitchers really shouldnt intentionally hit unless they wanna pull a guillerimo mota

What a downer. No, if you see the replay again, Frank had second easily, probably standing. He started gimping halfway to second, he almost beat it out even gimping halfway there, lol. I heard on The Score, 670, that Frank is day-to-day.

White Sox slugger Frank Thomas left Sunday's 5-0 victory against Tampa Bay with a hamstring injury and his status for the team's upcoming series against New York is in doubt. The injury occurred in the fifth as Thomas batted with one on and out. He lined a single into the left-field corner to score Jose Valentin from second. He ran down the baseline and attempted to stretch the hit into a double. However, he said as he took his second step after hitting first base, he felt a shot of pain. Thomas was thrown out sliding into second and limped off the field. Ross Gload pinch-hit for Thomas, who was the designated hitter, in the seventh. "In a couple of days, we'll know more," Thomas said. "Right now, I don't know." Thomas declined further comment, but manager Ozzie Guillen remained optimistic that things weren't too serious. "I don't think it's that bad," Guillen said. "He said he felt something pop. We need him, so we'll see how it is day to day." Thomas has made four trips to the disabled list, most recently in 2001 when a torn right triceps limited him to just 20 games that season. His 1999 season was cut short because of right ankle surgery, and he went on the DL in '97 with a pulled left oblique and '96 with a stress fracture in his left foot. So far this season, Thomas is batting .243 with one home run and five RBIs. Thomas isn't the only one with hamstring troubles. Valentin missed Friday's game because of tightness in his left hamstring and the same injury caused him to be pulled in the seventh inning of Sunday's game. Valentin played the whole game Saturday and homered in the third inning Sunday before reaggravating the hamstring running out a ground ball in the sixth. He said he felt the muscle twist as he landed on the base. Valentin remained in the game to take the field in the bottom half of the inning, but Juan Uribe replaced him in the bottom of the seventh. A strained right hamstring landed Valentin on the disabled list in June of 2001. "A couple of years ago, that was a complete pull," Valentin said. "This is more like a twist. I just don't want to deal with it and if it gets worse, it's going to take a long time. I don't want to go back there, so I'll be glad if it's a couple of games and not a month. "With the way we're playing, I can afford to not have to go out there and be a hero."
