May 28, 200421 yr He is. Best all-around player. I've said that a few times before. He's got good defense(very underrated defense...booting routine balls sucks ass, but he makes some plays look routine that others make look like webgems), has power, is hitting for average(right now atleast), runs the bases very well, is a team leader...I just don't understand why everyone makes him out to be the team's scapegoat for everything, and why so many people don't like him. Is it the K's, or the errors? BTW, it is Jose Valentin, with no 'E". I think that's by far my biggest pet peeve. The only Valentine we've had in quite some time was traded along with Foulke for Billy Koch, Neal Cotts, and Daylon Holt.
May 28, 200421 yr I think he has the potential to hit .300 and hit 25 and drive in 100 RBI's. So yeah, he has what it takes to be all around he just hasn't shown it yet...

May 29, 200421 yr He's not Sox the best all-around player. Too weak against LHP, too many avoidable fielding mistakes and a lame hamstring are reasons why. Ozzie is prone to say all sorts of, um, stuff.
