May 30, 200421 yr Saw it on http://35thstreetmess.blogspot.com/ via New York Newsday. I'll believe it when I hear it reported by the Chicago media and, this is huge when dealing with JR and Co., when I see the breakdowns as I'm almost positive it wouldn't be 5/$14 per season.

Magglio has to assume leadership role and help Frank, Esteban, Mark, Juan, Shingo and Co bring this team to ALCS and bring a ton of fans to the park/televisions in the process. If he can't do that, giving him 25% of the payroll would be stupid. I still rmember Frank making 40% of the 1999 payroll - how did that work out?

May 30, 200421 yr Thats if the Sox offer him arbitration. If there is that kind of market out there for Maggs, they will offer him arbit for sure. If he leaves Chicago he is going to be getting some money from someone, and isn't going to care about a one year deal from here.
