Lee Sets Franchise Record at 28 Games

Featured Replies

Just put Dimaggio's streak of 56 gms into perspective for me. I mean, as good as 28 is, that's still only half of 56. Props to big Carlos though.

Carlos has to set a second franchise record to get there. I don't think you can really understand how rough 56 is until you sit down and really root for a player to get there.

56 is is almost unimaginable.

congrats carlos :cheers

The scary thing about DiMaggio is that on BBTN they said that he never used extra innings to extend his streak. :o

BTW I love the new layout at WSC.

Rex brought this up the other day too. DiMaggio also had a 61 game hitting streak in the Pacific League.

CARLOS!! :cheers :cheers

Yea, but screw that. If he breaks it, he breaks it.

i thought that comment was kind of mean to carlos, almost degraded his accomplishment.

This is a tough record to go after. Quite a bit of it is dependant on the team.

I think I read that there were about 6 times during the streak that Lee extended the streak in his last ab & 4 of those times he was not likely to get the ab. A late SOX rally gave him the opp to extend the streak.

It's a remarkable acheivement for both Lee & the SOX considering how long it's been since someone challenged it. He's 2 away from tying the all-time Chicago record. He needs 31 to beat it. I'm praying he can do it! :cheers

The frontpage for WSC is AMAZING. Whoever did layout and design for that deserves major props. Way to go!
