Vic Darensbourg - R - CWS

 

White Sox designated LHP Vic Darensbourg for assignment.

Darensbourg pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings in two appearances for the White Sox.

He'll be claimed off waivers...did we sign him to the league minimum?

ESPN has him as a LH (I think that's right) & the SOX paid 1.4 million for him.

So if he gets claimed the SOX save a little cash.

 

I would think that means Wunsh is due back soon.

 

Shingo, Marte, Cotts, Politte, Jackson, Adkins, Rauch, Diaz, Garland, E-Lo, Buehrle, Garcia

 

With Schow & Wunsch coming back, Jackson & Adkins might the odd men out.

Wunsch won't be back, he'll be lucky to ever throw a pitch again with the Sox. Something happened that no one knows about between he and KW, and he won't be back with the team. What exactly that is, who knows, but for him to fall out as much as he has this year, something is not right.

 

Once Show is back, the pitching will be like this:

 

Buehrle, Loaiza, Garcia, Schoenweis, Garland

 

Rauch, Diaz, Politte, Marte, Takatsu, Adkins, Cotts

Cotts, Diaz, Rauch in pen...has a ton of potential, but also scares me at the same time, especially in a playoff hunt. Hopefully it won't be too big of an issue with our starters consistently going 6+

If anyone should be the odd men out it's Jackson and Politte (Although he has been better lately...)

I have a hard time wanting to part with Politte. Yes I know he has control issues but he consistantly hits 95 on the gun. The Sox don't really seem to have that many guys who throw that hard. He has been better of late and hopefully keeps it going. Thriller needs to be 86'd and soon. He is spent.

Apparently Wunsch has lost favor with Kenny so he's not coming back.

I would have to believe his name is coming up in these trade talks.

Or at least Kenny is including him.

 

I'm not even sure if Kelly is still in the SOX org. He's got 10ip in AAA.

your right there. adkins has been a pretty good surprise for our pen. mike jackson seems to be losing it and we still have a long season to go. i dont mind seeing rauch or diaz on the bullpen.

The $1.4 Mil you read was an option that Colorado had on him for 2004. They chose instead to buy him out for $200,000 and release him. The Sox signed him in January to a Minor League contract with a spring training try out.

 

I can't find any salary info on him for 2004.
