July 15, 200421 yr IMO, rather than a half-priced Tuesday, what about making it a more family-oriented Tuesday? Something like, four tickets, parking pass, four hot dogs, four drinks, two popcorns/nachos for I dunno, 70 Bucks? I really enjoy the dollar hot-dog Thursdays, I think they should, rather than cutting the ticket price, cut the food price on certain days. That is actually a spectular idea. you should forward that on to him.
July 15, 200421 yr How about win. As you can tell from this year, when fans think you have a good team they come out to the park. Win and sign a marguee player. Lets see how htat works. Fair enough.

Well they do cut the hot dog prices down on Thursdays, JimH and quickman can attest to that statement.

July 15, 200421 yr Yes, the price per hot dog is lower, but the total dollars expended were higher! hey, you didn't need to buy me those. I offered to treat those two to a beer and they said no.
July 15, 200421 yr Thats a great idea and I know a lot of hockey teams in my area do it and the Angels and Dodgers used to do it. Don't know if they still do, but if you market that well, I think it is a great way to set aside a night that will bring in families to the games.
July 15, 200421 yr Not every fan is a family, and not every 20 something "yuppie" is a Cubs fan either. There is something to be said for trying to gain consumer loyalty, and trying to bring a younger, although less wealthy crowd. As todays 20 something crowd, will be tomorrows season ticket holders. It would be a shame if many of those people who were just starting to become loyal to one team, no longer had a much more price friendly environment that they could watch a game at, while families still got all the benefits. I still believe Sunday's are half price for children already. SB

July 15, 200421 yr They should market more to families and kids. The suggestion Keith had for a Value Pack days is a good one, have it include a voucher or something for a "meal deal", i.e. hot dog, fries, drink ... something like that. With the Pepsi 1/2 price thing, what cracked me up a few times this year was there were a few packs of drunks at the game, all bragging how they got in for 1/2 price and then buying 8-9 beers at $5 each. They should also have more "must be present to win" types of promotions. For example, they could get a corporate sponsor to donate a nice door prize, and have a drawing in the 7th inning or something ... must be present to win, turn in your ticket stub to claim the giveaway. Do something like that for every home game where they expect attendance to be lower, i.e. Tuesday, Wed. games in April and May. They could do a buy two, get two half off for certain seats (upper deck reserved?) for certain games too. They could give season ticket holders let's say 4 vouchers they can use for 1/2 price tickets, on selected dates in selected seating areas if they wanted to. Sort of a perk for being a season ticket holder, although they are very good to us already. We get discounts off the normal prices and exchange date privileges. The main thing they have to decide is do they want to consistently do this 1/2 price thing, even on Mondays. IMO, they should have "value dates" and sprinkle them around the weekdays, go heavy on Mondays and Tuesdays if you wish. The other thing, make it easier for walk ups. They could have some sort of self serve kiosk set up for people who want to get in quick and aren't picky about where they sit. The walk up lines can be unbearable. Lots of things they can do.
