July 20, 200421 yr Author I am pleased with what I saw from Willie yesterday. I only hope he is in the line-up today. But my main criticism still stands...Why doesn't Willie run?? Even Hawk and DJ were on him, again. They said Ozzie has talked with him repeatedly about stealing more...but nothing. Maybe that's why he sits a lot.
July 20, 200421 yr I think it's because Ozzie has him so scared to screw up that if he does he'll be on the bench for another 2 weeks so Juan's batting average can drop another 30 points. I don't care at this point if he runs or not as long as he gives us performances like he did last night but I agree that he should be stealing more bases.

In defense, Tampa does have a glut of GREAT outfielders in their Minor League system. With Crawford's star rising, they could get some pitching for him. As for where would we play him? CF. I love Aaron, but a 1-2 punch of Crawford and Harris would be tempting. But it won't happen, a Crawford move would happen in the offseason.

You got it worng, it was Jerry Manuel who would bench him when he made a mistake. Ozzie doesn't care if he gets caught stealing, but not trying is what is getting him benched.
