July 29, 200421 yr I've had enough of his pig ass. Get him out of that f'ing rotation and put his ass in the bullpen. Are you telling me Neal Cotts can do any worse then him. I'm sure Neal can throw an 87 MPH fastball in Torri Hunter's kitchen. Hell even I could do that.

July 29, 200421 yr He gave up 4 runs in 7 innings, 2 on home runs, one also being unearned. No, this wasn't the Cy Young calibur Loaiza from last year, but at least he kept them in it. On a separate note, don't you think it's time to change the 'ole screenname? I mean, that player hasn't been with this team for over a year, nor is the player in your avatar. JMHO, that's all.
July 29, 200421 yr You want to dump a 21 game winner from last year? Come on, sure he's not going to win 21 games again, but he should get around 15 and that is still a good year. It's not his fault we lost this game.
July 29, 200421 yr If he wants $8 mill plus, get him the hell out of here...we can't have an $8 mill risk. If he wants $5 mill or less...why not? He's going to win us 12-15 games, unless he's injured, and if he regains his velocity, he's back to being a 15-18 game winner and see him post a 3.50 or so ERA...maybe even better.
July 29, 200421 yr In watching today's game I wondered if anybody would b**** about his start. Four runs is good enough, folks, especially at home. He did his job. He's hittable this year; last year he wasn't. He's still worth keeping.
July 29, 200421 yr If we "send him to the bullpen" who the hell would replace him. If Schoeneweis did what Loaiza does, people wouldn't complain, but since it is not up to par with last year, people complain.
July 29, 200421 yr If he wants $8 mill plus, get him the hell out of here...we can't have an $8 mill risk. Trust me he'll want more than that. After Garcia signed his deal, Loaiza said the "market had now been set for him".
July 29, 200421 yr I can't see anyway he would ask for that much, unless he gets real hot in the next two months. I can't believe he is pitching like such a b**** in his contract year.
July 29, 200421 yr Trust me he'll want more than that. After Garcia signed his deal, Loaiza said the "market had now been set for him". Oh I know he will. I was just saying if we can get him for $5 mill or less, we should resign him. I can't imagine why anyone would want to give him $8 mill a year though...$8 mill a year for a potential 4.50-5.00 ERA? :headshake
July 29, 200421 yr Loiaza won't get $8Mill per year. You never know. Who would have thought Chan Ho Park and Darren Dreifort were would get that much? People always overpay for pitching. Even if it's mediocre pitching someone will pay if they think he's the best person they can get. I envision Texas or Baltimore giving him some money, especially if he gets hot.

Even if it's mediocre pitching someone will pay if they think he's the best person they can get. I envision Texas or Baltimore giving him some money, especially if he gets hot. The market has changed since those contracts were given. Plus, those contracts are perfect examples of why Loiaza won't get that much.
July 29, 200421 yr The market has changed since those contracts were given. Plus, those contracts are perfect examples of why Loiaza won't get that much. I realize that, but people will still spend a ton on pitching. Even with their ridiculous contracts someone still went out and got Hampton and Brown. Was Colon really a $12 million pitcher? Is Escobar really that good? He may have better stuff than Esteban, but he's also been a relief pitcher most of his career and doesn't have that 21 win season under his belt. I'm just saying I feel that someone is going to do something stupid once guys like Pavano, Clement, Radke, Perez, Martinez, and Lowe are signed. Everyone needs pitching, and there aren't enough studs to go around.

I'm sure Neal can throw an 87 MPH fastball in Torri Hunter's kitchen. Hell even I could do that. Boy, if you were GM there would be NOBODY on this team. After one bad game you would have fired them. Then you would have NO free agents who would want to come to this team. And the rookie from the minors would be afraid to make one mistake. Yeah...you have a great baseball mind.
July 29, 200421 yr Butter Parque = Legend in His Own Mind I agree Ribbie. I have not seen a whole lot make sense other then he's pissed at the Sox right now, so f'in throw in the towel... Yea, I feel that way too, but I am not giving up with a 3 game deficit. Not yet...
July 29, 200421 yr Author thats the whole problem you idiots. People who come here feel its fine to fail. There is no pressure on any of them. You know what if Loaiza is terrible then he goes to the bullpen. Now he knows for the rest of the year that he doesn't pitch well he's gonna be stuck in there. I want guys from the FA market that don't see failing as an option. Some of the guys on this team see it as a fallback plan.
July 29, 200421 yr Loaiza sucks becuase he is balless this year. He continues to go out after the Sox score some runs and he just gives the runs right back as the opponents score more, erasing what the Sox just did.

If we were the Yankees, and Loaiza sucked, he'd go to the bullpen and we'd bring in someone else. Guess what, we're not the f***ing Yankees. Loaiza will not be dropped out of the rotation, unless he gives up 5 or more runs in 5-10 straight starts, let alone giving up 4 runs, 3 of which were earned, in 7 innings against a hot Minnesota team. Idiot.
July 29, 200421 yr I've had enough of his pig ass. Classless, as classless as this thread title. There are times I wish I could put some so called fans on waivers for the purpose of giving them their unconditional release.
July 29, 200421 yr Goodness. Butterman, this is why there's a problem... you can be upset and not optimistic, and still be critical, without tearing people a new ass. It gets old. This team is struggling. Elo is struggling. Yep. We as fans arre stuggling to hang with the team. But you bet your ass we will, unlike you. Bu-bye.
July 30, 200421 yr Author It'll really suck for you guys if this team falls out of it. I'm prepared to take the loss. This team has done to us fans many times before.
