And on that particular play it doesn't matter if you are playing SS or 2B, it is the exact same play either way. You recieve the ball, transfer it, and throw it. It doesn't change at all.

When i remembered that his natural position is short i thought it odd that he was playing second but i did not mention it. Why force someone to play a position that hardly ever plays it in their first game ever.

I was thinking the same thing, he should be, the decision to play him at second isn't that inane or stupid. he still should be able to make the play.
