Down 2-0 already as the first two Tigers hit solo bombs off of Contreras :bang

:headshake And right away DJ is pointing out the Contreras is back to tipping his pitches

Aw, I wanted to do it.:P

What an absolute disaster Contreras is turning into for the Sox. The last thing this team needs is a 6 million dollar/year experiment. It's beginning to look like we would have been better off just losing Loaiza to free agency, and spending that money on a proven MLB pitcher.

Very nice manufactured run by Valdez. He gets on with a E5, steals second, dekes the CF on a late movement back to tag up and go to third on a medium fly ball, and then he scores on a basehit by Uribe.

Game tied at 2

Contreras' absense of communication between our catcher is most troubling. He appears unwilling to mix up his forkball and fastball; relying on either one too frequently.

Should have known fortunes would turn when Contreras was 3-0 with a 3.50 ERA in his first several starts with the Sox. There was far too much praising of KW . I suggest a simple motto when our GM initiates a trade which appears beneficial to the Sox: GIVE IT TIME. It was only fitting Jose would transgress into the pitcher New York gleefully traded.

It looks like they are trying not to let him throw the fork ball. If he hits that first pitch strike with a breaking ball, he sets up his fastball nicely.

If he doesnt work out, is charlie hough available?????

I hate this guy. ANOTHER wild pitch, 3-2 Tigers.

Did they call it a wild pitch?? Looked like a passed ball to me. :huh

4-3 on a konerko homer. :)

Gload got a hit, I'm shocked. ;) :D

I won't complain (much), but the score should be 5-3.

Uribe stealing third with your biggest run producer AB and Brandon Inge behind the plate is foolish. 'Ozzieball' cost the Sox another run.

I'm sick of seeing us run into outs. f*** OZZIEBALL!

That's not ozzieball, that's idiotball.

I agree 100% with the last three posts. ''Ozzie ball" is nothing more than poorly played small ball.

Contreas done. Get the hell out of here.

How did i know he was gonna walk infante before he even stepped up to the plate. :headshake

Jose definitely still has to cut down on his walks(duh!) but he didn't pitch bad today, he's definitely frusterating to watch pitch, though.

Uribe is now 9 for 20 in steal attempts. Not exactly efficient.

Off the subject of the Sox game: I tuned in to see Rauch pitch against the Marlins tonight, and I saw something that pissed me off. The first pitch he threw was 94 mph. Where was that this year? Anyways, he looked fairly good. He was keeping the ball down, which is a major plus for him considering where the pitch is starting from.

He was throwing 91, in the low 90s while here. It's probably just an anomoly with the gun...

He didn't look bad when he was here either.

Was he consistently pitching at 94 mph? In his starts with the Sox I never witnessed a pitch within that speed.

If true, its only fitting Rauch finds his true potential in another organization. Isn't it protocal for minor league pitchers to gain velocity once traded from the White Sox? Kip Wells sure had no problem adding several mph once entering the Pirates system.

Cotts wets the bed.

It's that simple.

And wouldn't you know, there's NO EXCUSES. (He wasn't too fond of stranding his own runners there, was he?)

Two straight singles followed by a three run HR has given the Tigers a 6-4 lead.

Good -- I'm glad to see him actually get the chance to pitch with his own runners on base.
