October 25, 200421 yr Here's the link. I'm disappointed. Either Krenzel or Hutchinson has to step up, b/c Quinn is still on his heels.
October 25, 200421 yr Lovie with a straight face said the reason TC was not signed is because he is happy with the 3 he has now .............WHAT???????????????????????????????????
October 25, 200421 yr It would have been pretty pointless to sign the guy.... When would he learn the offense, week 15? -- Throw Krenzel out there, get your top 3 pick and wait 'til next year.
October 25, 200421 yr Author Lovie with a straight face said the reason TC was not signed is because he is happy with the 3 he has now .............WHAT??????????????????????????????????? I couldn't believe that. He even said Couch had "a good workout" -- I can only hope that was just being polite, o/w I don't know what he's thinking.

October 26, 200421 yr Bears claim OWENS, OWENS, OWENS!!! http://us.rd.yahoo.com/sports/rss/nfl/SIG=...ov=ap&type=lgns

October 26, 200421 yr How is that? Just another rant... Your not actually serious here are you? Tim Couch? Ok, maybe in terms of the average guy on the street...would Tim Couch be a better quarterback than him? Yes. But, if you are talking about football here...you couldn't be more wrong. A former #1 draft pick, and those are his numbers...oh yeah, and he was a smart-ass punk to boot. Boy, oh boy, how is that?
October 26, 200421 yr How is that? There's a reason Green Bay cut him. He sucks. There's really nothing more to say on the issue. Let Hutchinson learn the system, and if Krenzel hasn't shown anything by Week 11 or so, throw Chad in there. This season is a lost cause - well, I shouldn't say that. There's still developing, but wins aren't really how I'm going to judge this team. Go down with who ya got; Krenzel and Hutch.
October 26, 200421 yr Couch put those numbers up on very not good browns teams. If he was on a better overall team there is no reason to believe his numbers wouldn't go up.
October 26, 200421 yr There's a reason Green Bay cut him. They released him because he was injured no other reason other than that.
October 26, 200421 yr Couch put those numbers up on very not good browns teams. If he was on a beeter overall team there is no reason to believe his numbers wouldn't go up. Remind me again why the Packers didn't keep him? After bringing him in with the intentions of being the heir apparent to Mr. Favre? Why did the Cleveland Browns fans scream for his head? He SUCKS!!! You don't need to watch 20 of his games (which I did) to know that.

Why did the Cleveland Browns fans scream for his head? He SUCKS!!! You don't need to watch 20 of his games (which I did) to know that. He was injured that is why he got cut. Not due to him sucking. The numbers he put up there were not that bad considering the teams they have had in the recent past.
October 26, 200421 yr Couch put those numbers up on very not good browns teams. If he was on a better overall team there is no reason to believe his numbers wouldn't go up. There are also these things called intangibles for a quarterback. He lacked these said intangibles. Even if he was surrouned by not very good teams, the guy was a chump. But, yeah...if comparing him to the average arm-chair quarterback, he's a million times better.
October 26, 200421 yr Only thing I have to say is the workout the Bears gave him must have been terrible. If they are comfortable with 3 goofs they have Qbing currently. Well just ride out the season and maybe the Bears will get a top 3 pick.
October 26, 200421 yr He was injured that is why he got cut. Not due to him sucking. The numbers he put up there were not that bad considering the teams they have had in the recent past. WHAT!!>!>!?!?!? He couldn't complete a pass in training-camp. They said he looked awful. The Green Bay media KILLED him. The Pack dropped him like last period French because he wasn't getting it done. You need to research this topic a bit more before you defend Mr. Couch.
October 26, 200421 yr Couch put those numbers up on very not good browns teams. If he was on a better overall team there is no reason to believe his numbers wouldn't go up. Please. Couch was a #1 pick. Clearly he is suppose to have potential no matter how bad his team is. Noone complained how bad Manning's Colts were when he first came in, or Vick's Falcons were. Both of those qb's made their team better. Couch did not. Holcomb almost single handedly caried that Browns team during their playoff run a couple years ago. He's a freakin backup!! Couch is not as bad of a bust as Leaf, but he is not good at all. He still has a chance to revive his career, but he better do that quick.

The Pack dropped him like last period French because he wasn't getting it done. You need to research this topic a bit more before you defend Mr. Couch. He suffered though pain the entire time throughout training camp. From what i have read that is the reason he was so terrible. His arm strength was even worse than usual and everything was off target.
October 26, 200421 yr Lovie Smith was quoted as saying his workout was "ok". To think the Bears would rather have 2 guys that are totally ineffective . Plus Hutchinson, not knowing the system.... It just says a lot to me about how his workout must have went. I think Couch is probably still hurt. ESPN 1000 said he has a "Dead Arm" right now. So its not a surprise they didn't sign him...
