November 18, 200421 yr boras's comments today made it sound like the sox were still communicating with him about maggs, and others possibly, in contrast to kw saying they wouldnt deal with boras. perhaps its kenny's way of 'flying under the radar' ? on another note, which would you rather have: uribe at ss or maybe be able to sign nomar for a smallish 2 yr contract, with performance incentives, to protect us from injuries? uribe could spell him and/or willie at 2nd etc?
November 18, 200421 yr you could be right, or perhaps this is just Boras bulls***ting so other GMs "think" the White Sox are making offers ...
November 18, 200421 yr Author if that were the case, i dont think he would have said that he didnt think the sox could afford his players on another thought, perhaps kenny's quotes were when he was upset moods change with cooler heads and more thought....

I doubt Williams would compromise the name of Boras to 'fly under the radar.' Reinsdorf is controlling the strings on this one. While I would prefer Garciappara signing a two-year incentive laden contract, it's not realistic. I find it difficult to believe another organization won't offer Nomar two guaranteed years.

Nomar wants to get a 1 year deal to get his stock up for one more big pay day. I don't think he will be signing anything more than a one year deal unless some team is willing to vastly overpay.
November 18, 200421 yr Author Agreed, sounds like a good solution to me. that means some other team will think of it first
November 18, 200421 yr In that interview it seemed Boras was taking the high road in regards to a lot of things. Hopefully the Sox wouldn't be so foolish to rule out all of his clients. JMO
November 18, 200421 yr Maybe KW is just saying we are not dealing with BORAS so we wont miss out on any FA again especially the impact players Boras has.
November 18, 200421 yr I honestly wouldn't mind if we never signed another Boras contract ever. The fact is that teams win championships, not players! The thing most of his clients have in common is that they are more focused on themselves then the team. You give me 9 talented players any day over 2 superstars and a bunch of below average players.
November 18, 200421 yr well I think KW and JR are probably happy, it seems like they have a grudge against Boras and this was a way to f*** him over, now there's a team who claims they are looking to add payroll (if you believe the 75m number floating around) who he can't use against other teams.

I just figured out who you are! You're Jerry Krause!
November 18, 200421 yr Crede is a Boras player. Maybe we will trade him After listening to Ozzie and Kenny talk about Crede, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Crede ended up in the Kendall or Johnson deals.
