whitesox91403
This guy always seemed like a Sox killer. Would it be worth it to bring him in as Crede insurance?

No. You don't sign a guy just because he kills ya. Randa is not a bad ball player but i'll stick with Crede
DBAHO
No. You don't sign a guy just because he kills ya. Randa is not a bad ball player but i'll stick with Crede Joe Randa 2003 - .291, 16 HR's, 72 RBI's, 41 BB's, 61 K's, .348 OBP. 2004 - .287, 8 HR's, 56 RBI's, 40 BB's, 77 K's, .343 OBP. Joe Crede 2003 - .261, 19 HR's, 75 RBI's, 32 BB's, 75 K's, .308 OBP. 2004 - .239, 21 HR's, 69 RBI's, 34 BB's, 81 K's, .299 OBP. No doubt KW is going to stick with Crede though because of his "so - called" potential. Whether we'll actually see him break out though, I just don't know. And Randa wouldn't sign to be a backup, he wants to be a starter, and deserves to be one. He'll get picked up by someone, just not us. qwerty
Randa will either be on the mariners or blue jays. I think there is a better chance that he will be a mariner though.
SoxAce
Crede ain't goin anywhere and there won't be any "insurance" imo. That'll belong to Uribe/Burke etc.

Pretty much the team that loses out on Corey Koskie will get Joe Randa.

Hatchetman
i was thinking about olmedo saenz as a backup. he hit about .275 8hr in about 100 ab's for LA last year. he didn't play much 3B, so i'm not sure he can cut it there. just an idea. southsider2k5
There are much better things we could do with the couple of million dollars needed for Randa. There are plenty of quality pen arms we could look at, or even a fifth starter if everything else falls through...

Olmedo was a SOx farmhand ONce. Not very good at Third. More of a firstbaseman
