Kid Gleason
12/8/84 Razzle from Hanoi Rocks was killed. 12/8/04 Dimebag was killed. TERRIBLE day for music. RIP Dimebag. Was never a fan, but your influence was MASSIVE and something to respect. Can't help but feel REALLY bad for Vinnie. To think of sitting on stage and watching your brother be shot dead on stage like that. In a band, you form a strong bond with the band members of things are right, and then to imagine how strong that bond must have been between those two! Brother in real life, and bandwise. Kid Gleason
So that lands three deaths on the 8th? Geez, that's only supposed to be in a short period of time, not spanning 24 friggin' years!!!
southsider2k5
It was yesterday.. no pun intended. http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/s...000/2536321.stm Bah, I gotta learn to click more than one link. I was 6 at the time, and I'll never forget it. It was the saddest birthday/Christmas season we had growing up, except for the divorce. It was like a family member died when Lennon was murdered that year.
Goldmember
rip abbott... thankfully though the cop was patroling the area the same time as the shooting, depending on gun could have been a few more dead...
CubKilla
Pantera just flat out rocked. Huge loss to the metal world. "Vulgar Display of Power" is still one of the Top 10 metal albums of all time IMHO. I liked what I heard of Damage Plan too. A f***ing travesty. Note to musicians..... stay in the house on December 8th. f***ing nutjobs seem to use that date as a day to do their deeds if they have a grudge against you. AddisonStSox
I told myself I was going to stay away from this subject, but I just can't find the heart to do so. Growing up with a parent in the record industry allows you to meet pretty cool people. Let me tell you, none cooler than Dime. He was rather close with my pop and we are very very saddened to see him go. Just last month he was on stage at the House of Blues backdoor stage with my dad's band after the Damageplan show. This is truly, truly a loss to the Metal community, but more importantly, the loss of a good guy. I know he has done some pretty wild things in his life, but he will be deeply missed. Rock on Dime. LosMediasBlancas
Senseless, but not surprising. How often are you searched at big stadium events? Think about it, what if those clowns who ran on the field at the Cell had been packing?

LosMediasBlancas
Wow, I read this morning that it was 'at least 5 shots TO THE HEAD'. Ex Marine? We need this guy in Iraq.
The Critic
Wow, I read this morning that it was 'at least 5 shots TO THE HEAD'. Ex Marine? We need this guy in Iraq. No, that f***wit is exactly where he belongs - his worthless body rotting in the ground being eaten by maggots. That s***face wouldn't be any good in Iraq unless some insurgent told him that Pantera sucks. He had an unnatural obsession with the band, and apparently blamed Darrell for the breakup. He would write songs with lyrics lifted from Pantera songs. He tried to meet Damageplan before the show and was turned away. He was a stalker-fan. Nathan Gale was nobody, a nothing who means nothing to anyone. His only "contribution" to society was stealing the life of someone who was loved by many people. May his soul rot for eternity.
