Willie, i do not see crede doing anything any time soon.

Jon Garland.

You stole my thunder!

Garland has a tremendous upside. If he doesn't get hurt it's just a matter of time until he puts it all together. Hope he does it here.

I still believe Garland will step it up this year. Not as much pressure if he ends up being the 5th starter. I think he'd excel there.

Garland's got great stuff and a great, live, arm. However, you can't put anything together until you get some smarts and some balls. He doesn't seem to be able to find either.

I wish his ''sinker'' would more than 5 times a year.

Yea, it's hard to call a sinker anymore since it ends up in the seats so often.

and I wish he would stop throwing that s***ty change-up.:headshake

Juan Uribe

I don't understand the Garland has great stuff argument... I'm a garland fan, but I don't think his stuff is any better than say mark buehrle's, who's not considered a "stuff" pitcher

Guys with great Stuff get strikeouts, no matter what their ERA. They miss bats. Garland doesn't.

The sinker isn't his best pitch. It's not even his second best pitch.... The two games last season where Garland's "stuff" was most dominant was in these two starts, niether team would be considered an offensive powerhouse. -- http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/boxscore?gid=240604112

Both of those games garland went with essentially FB, Curveball... When he can spot his curve down in the zone he's a + pitcher. If that pitch isn't working, or he's not able to spot it, he's marginal at best.

If he's going to suceed, and by succeed I mean perform at an above average level @ the major leagues, it's going to be because he's mastered the Curveball.

The thing with Buehrle, is while he isn't considered a "stuff" pitcher, he was still Top 10 in K's in the AL.

He did add to his "Stuff" last season -- He was working that cutter pretty well.

I think that was a one time thing. I may be wrong but i don't think that is gonna happen again.

I bet he is in the Top 10, him and Freddy both.

It would be weird if he just dropped drastically in K's.

I hope, just not holding my breath.

I think Juan Uribe will have a breakout year. This year he will be able to play shortstop on an everyday basis it looks like, and like with aaron rowand, when you know you're in the lineup everyday it makes it much easier to go out an play. :stick

Jose Contreras

JoeCrede

Scott podsednik

These players all could really have big time seasons with very large peaks if they hit their potential.

This is the one thing that always makes this team a world series contender(pre season), they have so many variables and if just a few of them explode, we could have a dominant season.
