December 20, 200421 yr Yeah the final verdict ended up being about 2 feet of snow, give or take the inch that you sissies in Chicago got, with an snow emergency to make it nice and officially a snow storm. Anyone out in the streets yesterday was being ticketed, and it still didn't stop idiots, like me for example, from going out and driving around. I did manage to baja a snow bank out by the state prision and still avoid getting stuck. We only got an inch in Cedar Lake, SS!
December 20, 200421 yr Author We only got an inch in Cedar Lake, SS! Once you got past I-65 everyone got nothing but a dusting. The heavy snow band was only about 10-15 miles wide, with a bullseye on good ol MC.

December 20, 200421 yr Author How were the trains running today? We were just over 10 minutes late, and that was only because a door got stuck open at 57th, and it took 3 collectors to figure out what to do.
December 20, 200421 yr We were just over 10 minutes late, and that was only because a door got stuck open at 57th, and it took 3 collectors to figure out what to do. I chose to drive. One because I figured it was under 20 degrees and a line usually snaps at that temp on the SS. and 2, the wife is due any day now.
December 20, 200421 yr ...and 2, the wife is due any day now. Wow, Most Excellent! Congratulations to you both!
December 20, 200421 yr Wow, Most Excellent! Congratulations to you both! Thanks. I haven't said much about it. I'll be sure to start a thread when it happens, though.

And of course you never will. My youngest is 5, and I was up with him on the hour Saturday night because he caught a flu bug and was puking all night. Good times... My youngest is 5, and I was up with him on the hour Saturday night because he caught a flu bug and was puking all night. Good times... My only is 2 and a half and she sleeps pretty well. Hoefully we can get the next one on the same scedule. /crossing fingers\ /knocking on wood\, etc.
December 20, 200421 yr Author I chose to drive. One because I figured it was under 20 degrees and a line usually snaps at that temp on the SS. and 2, the wife is due any day now. Always a good plan to avoid the SS if you might need to get home quickly And prayers to you and the misses that everything goes well!

December 20, 200421 yr Author /best Butt-head voice What a dumbass. You're just jealous that you don't have 2 feet of snow to scare the s*** out of your wife while driving through.

December 21, 200421 yr Anyone else in the part of Northwest IN getting whiteout condiditions? Damn. We are getting about 3 " an hour of snow And it is all right over good old Michigan City I was traveling in it. I was on my way back to Chicago. Luckily they closed the road after we got passed it.
December 21, 200421 yr I chose to drive. One because I figured it was under 20 degrees and a line usually snaps at that temp on the SS. and 2, the wife is due any day now. This must be so stressful for you. You probably gained a few pounds, and it is so hard trying to sleep in the same bed with a pregnant person. And not knowing when the baby will come. I hope your wife is being supportive during this time. Any chance for a Christmas baby? [tex doing math] Nothing like spring training to get y'all in the mood Edited December 21, 200421 yr by Texsox
December 21, 200421 yr I heard on the TV weather it's supposed to be 10 below for the actual air temp on Christmas morning. Charming.
December 21, 200421 yr Author Some pictures of Michigan City, courtesy of the mother in law. For those who have or have not been to Michigan City before, the first two pictures are of Franklin St (Hwy 421 for all of the FIPs) a 5 lane street that is the main north/south artery from I94 to the lakefront.
December 21, 200421 yr Awesome, I'm spending Christmas in Ice Planet Hoth. What's the weather supposed to be like Thursday over there? Decent? I don't want my flight to be delayed.
