Bye Bye Schoney

What confuses me is we offered him a shortstop at his current salaries...

I mean he's coming off an injury. How many guys get as much money as the year before after having injury problems let alone a f***ing raise.

No way in hell any other team gives him the 1.7 Mil we offered him.

That is how arbitration works nowadays in baseball. Sad but true. :headshake

I wouldn't mind the Twins signing him. But they are smarter than that.

He sucks. He always has sucked. He always will suck. Good riddance. Another $2.2 million for KW to play with.

Play with? Dont you mean sit on?

No one else seems to feel this way, but I'll go on record as saying it. This will be a move the Sox end up regretting.

NO, they wont.

Ok.

If we can't get either Wade or Odalis in here, I agree with YAS he would be our best guy to fill that 5th hole.

Ok.

I agree -- Schoeny in the pen, with Cotts in AAA, or winning the 5th starter battle would be great.

or we could just sign Ken Hill again.

I'm interested to see what happens with Shoe now. He can really only go 5 to 6 innings most times as a starter, but some team out there desperate for a starter (Washington, Pittsburgh) could give him a role at the back end of their rotation. And you know he won't be happy if he's forced to pitch from the pen.

Someone tell me what he did that was worth appreciating?

4-1 before being injured.

Schoeneweis believes there will be other options for a pitcher who can serve as a left-handed setup guy, long reliever or start 30 games. He doesn't believe the White Sox's tenuous relationship with Boras had anything to do with the final resolution, but instead, felt the raise was not offered because of the skewed numbers stemming from his injury.

I am willing to bet if he didn't have Boras, he'd of had a contract with the White Sox. My guess, with Boras as his agent, he is with the Yankees at 2.1 or 2.2.
