Not a great movie, but it's nice to have when you want to see the old park. The movie came out in 1991, had to be filmed in 1990.

As for living White Sox fans, other posters pretty much covered them. Most, if not all, A-list celebs from Chicago are *sneer* Cub fans. One famous White Sox fan that no one had mentioned is former Vice-President Dan Quayle. Take that for what it's worth. Glad you mentioned Algren and Farrell, two of the best novelists the country ever produced. Algren wrote a good condensed account of the Black Sox scandal entitled The Swede Was a Hard Guy, and a humorous look at the 59 WS for the Sun Times, Go! Go! Go! Forty Years Ago.
