February 2, 200521 yr I honestly think he hasn't. He is a monstrous man and he did play football. I hoghly doubt it. I love Bonds and have 2nd thought sometimes but I honestly never even fathomed the thought of Frank using steroids.
February 2, 200521 yr Looking at those cards closely. Although he is bigger, he's not Sammy bigger. I say no way has he used them.
February 2, 200521 yr The difference between Thomas and Sosa/Bonds is Thomas was always big, not only a baseball player but also a football player. If Thomas had juiced, he would be so huge it wouldn't even be funny and believe me, you'd notice a HUGE difference. I know you were just stirring up the pot with this, but let's be realistic here, Thomas didn't go from speedy outfielder to home run hitting powerhouse in a matter of two seasons. -y2

Yes, he looks smaller in the first, but that was still huge for a baseball player at that time. Sometimes people may bash Frank for his issues with his contract, but I don't think he could ever be bashed for what he has done for this team or the thought of ever taking steroids.
February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) frank thomas has the widest nose i have ever seen Damn! Your right! LMAO!
February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) frank thomas has the widest nose i have ever seen Nearly reaches the end of his mouth when he smiles.
February 2, 200521 yr Nope, not a doubt in my mind. Frank was always massive and when you think about how outspoken he's been in regards to steroids its just not possible, imo.
February 2, 200521 yr I have to ask, qwerty...although this has probably been asked before... But...WTF is up with your avatar? Is that guy brushing lice/dandruf off his shoulder and...I don't even know, caressing the bill of his cap whilest' trying to act hardcore? That's not you, is it? QUOTE(qwerty @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 10:04 PM) Nearly reaches the end of his mouth when he smiles.
February 2, 200521 yr No offense, but I think this topic is insulting. It's McCarthysim in the cyber age.
February 2, 200521 yr Comparing a player when he's 20 and when he's 35 carries no credence with me. I don't consider those old photos of Bonds and Sosa either. A man is going to mature and fill out naturally over those years. And if he's working out and trying to build up, it will be even more pronounced. It's the quick one or two year jumps that make me take a second look with a suspicious eye. For example, look at Bonds (iirc) during his first season at SF, and then his second.
February 2, 200521 yr I understand that...but I work out, too...and although I've gotten bigger, my SKULL doesn't increase in size when I work out on my biceps/chest. So ... look at those pics of Frank. I don't see any increase in skull size. Regarding Sosa and Bonds ... I was talking about the 15 year difference. As I said, a one or two year difference is another story.

February 2, 200521 yr The older picture of Frank purposely makes his arm look huge. THe angle of it is shot to do that.
February 2, 200521 yr It is packed away, but if you have seen topps rated rookie card for frank, in his auburn uniform, you will see his huge biceps, even way back then.
February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(Tmar28 @ Feb 1, 2005 -> 09:55 PM) frank thomas has the widest nose i have ever seen Yeah, I thought maybe Scottie Pippen's was wider, but I was wrong.
February 2, 200521 yr QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Feb 2, 2005 -> 12:44 AM) Yeah, I thought maybe Scottie Pippen's was wider, but I was wrong. Patrick Ewing.
February 2, 200521 yr Frank was a tight end at Auburn. Usually, if you are a tight end in a major conference, you are going to be atleast 240 or 250 pounds. Now add 15+ years of working out and just getting older to that, and you can gain another 20-25 pounds easily. Not a chance Frank ever used steroids in my mind.
