lvjeremylv
I was looking at the Sox TV schedule, and I notice a lot of games being broadcast on "CSN Chicago". Is that the same as Fox Sports Chicago, or is it something different? I'm a bit confused. Thanks in advance.

retro1983hat
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 01:32 AM) You dooooo? I was very unhappy when Tom P did not return. Maybe it was dorky, but I used to love the whole pregame intros Wimpy used to do: "The weather, a beautiful 70-degrees today. A look at our good friends in blue. And now it's time to play ball, and here's the HAAAWWK-A-ROOOO."
AnthraxFan93
The Sox should have fired DJ and Hired Stoney for one year.. then made stoney the GM in 06..But that would be the smart thing to do.. and we all know when it is the smart thing to do, it costs money. southsider2k5
All of the Chicago Sports teams that were on FSN got together and decided to cut out the middleman, and made their own cable network specifically for their teams. They talked Comcast into sponsoring the network, hence the name. Nothing will change for the viewers except the channel you watch the games on. AnthraxFan93
With this new Channel FSN, now has 24 hours of Poker and Beyond the glory.. it seems!

mreye
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 10:37 AM) I haven't had it since December. My cable company pulled the plug on that dog. So did Dish Network. Now, about Steve Stone. I agree. I'd like to see him in the booth. But, why in the world would we want him as GM? Didn't we try that booth to Gm thing before with much failure? No thanks. I think he'd make a great Manager someday, but not a GM.

I heard some rumors that he might be on one of the secondary broadcast teams for ESPN this summer. I'm pretty sure his gig over at 670 is just a weekly show. So he could do 1 or two games a week for ESPN no problem.
daa84
QUOTE(qwerty @ Mar 1, 2005 -> 11:24 PM) Yes, wish his partner wasn't though. really? i thought DJ sucked his first 2 years but i think hes an above average broadcaster now. Stone is a damn good announcer but he doesnt know when to not talk. He constantly talks during the entire broadcast and feels teh need to try to analyze everything. as hawk says, its not always saying the right thing at the right time, but also not saying something at the right time

I'd give him a shot at GM. He'd be great as a manager, I think, but he doesn't want to do that. Maybe I'm over-rating him, but I've always thought he has a good baseball mind, understands the way the business of baseball works, and I think he'd surround himself with good baseball people to help him out. But first and foremost, I think a Hawk/Stone broadcast would be golden. I think they'd be funny and informative.

Stoney would be an awesome fit in the clubhouse. He isin't nearly the homer that Hawk and DJ are and he knows a whole lot about the game as well.
