Clever.

I am also surprised with him. I'd like to see him be successful.

i wouldnt mind him being on the bench in replace of timo.... hey maybe Timo can be a starter in charlotte

.217 average, and 4 homers, and he's playing well.

Makes me sad.

I didn't know he had a .217 average, he does need more work in the minors, yet again.

1-2 more hits and he would be batting 260 to around 300. Would you let him make the team then?

Would let him be bat boy but actually participate in a game? No.

NO doubt...Rob Deer was a lifetime .220 hitter....I'm not sure Borchard could achieve those heights! :P

hasnt joe struck out a million times this spring-every time ive seen him played, hes struck out. sorry, dont want him striking out, coming off the bench. trade him.

I loved Rob Deer. How many guys do you know could hit an amazing .209 with 27 HRs and 147 Ks and still have fans upset that he left their team in 1990.

Joe is going to Charlotte no matter what he does this ST. He has not proven with his bat or his glove that he is ready for the MLs. Time's running out Joe.

This is really his last chance.

A strong ST & a strong AAA 1/2 would put Joe near the top to be called up if someone is traded or injured. I think Joe realizes this. His family might have even convinced him that with Dye being injury prone that he really needs to beat out Timo this ST. If he can do that then he could be the top name to replace Dye when/if he goes down.

Borchard is a bust. I find it amazing that he is still with the organization. He's not even close to a major leaguer. It's time for Borchard and the Sox to move on.

he is still with the organization because he bust's his ass off as hard as anyone and he is fan friendly.... also sox dont want to admit they made a mistake yet :bang

They already know they made a mistake. I can almost guarantee you that

look, im not here to say borchard is going to be a superstar but people keep saying "its time for him to move on" as if we should just let him go or trade him for a 35 year old pioneer league outfielder who weighs 300 pounds. at one point, scouts who know a hell of a lot more about baseball than any of us ever will know called him the best power prospect since mark mcgwire..there was a reason we payed him 5 million dollars. so whats the problem with just running him out at charlotte for the next couple years. something could click, its not a ridiculous notion...we all saw chris singleton and scott posednik and how they were horrendous until they were 28 (yes singleton was only good for one year but thats not the point). the point is, thats what AAA is for. keep him down there and let him keep trying to figure things out. ozzie says he works his ass off and its better than running a 32 year old former steroid user reject who actually had a lower batting average than joe in the outfield last year.

Im sorry. I respect Joe Borchard. It is not as if he is not trying. I think he may be the hardest worker in the organazation behind arow. I remember after arow had his dirt bike accident and was hitting .200 for the first part of 2003 a lot of people wanted him traded too.

Whenever someone is doing bad people want to trade them, doesn't matter if it is Joe B or Arow. I remember when everyone wanted Buehrle gone because of his career low 14 wins. As soon as they start clicking everyone starts cheering for them again.
