Not discounting him, but I think Okafor does more things.  Whose more valuable, Gordon, simply because he's playing for a winning team and has had so many huge 4th quarters.

 

Still, I think you have to look at it that Gordon is a scorer, Okafor is many things and plays starter minutes.  I think in the end Gordon's lack of minutes is what will keep him from winning the award.  I wouldn't complain if he did though cause it will be a tough choice.

 

Part of me says give it to Gordon simply because he's helping a team into the playoffs.

yeah i think voters are going to look at that the reason Emeka is putting up better numbers is because he gets more playing time and his team is horrible...

 

As for Howard if the Magic were still in the playoffs and like the 6th plus seed i think he would be given more consideration but of the 2 rookies out of the playoffs Emeka has better numbers.

 

For Gordon he is the scorer.  The NBA loves scoring and he scores more than Emeka in less minutes and very similar FG% which helps Ben since he is a SG compared to Emeka being a PF.  Also id think his ownage of Emeka's Bobcats today might sway some voters and the fact he has scored double digits in the 4th quarter a lead leading 21 times.

 

Every voter should just take a look at tonight's game to see the real truth.

I think the vote will be a three headed race (stating the obvious) and who knows who will pull it out. You could make a case for any of them.

I like how pargo steps it up but we're going to need Kirk back when we're playing real teams. Milk carton: duhon. I guess our third-best PG found his rightful spot on the bench tonight...

And Duhon played 1 not so good game and now he is our 3rd best PG?... while he isnt a good shooter, ill give you that he is by far the best point.

Imagine if Howard was actually given the ball more on offense, and scored more from normal plays instead of put backs etc, and if he was actually played in the 4th quarter of games. Long - term, he's easily going to be the best player in this draft and I don't think anyone doubts that.

Idonno Shaun Livingston a lot of people picked to be the best player in the draft in the long run but as of now it looks like Howard can be something special. This draft was a really good one though so who knows.
